The 2008 US Open is a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It is the 127th edition of the US Open, and the fourth and last Grand Slam event of the year. It will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York City, New York, United States, from August 25 through September 7, 2008.

The men's defending champion, Roger Federer, attempts to win the US Open for a fifth consecutive time, whereas Justine Henin, the women's defending champion, will not defend her title due to her retirement from tennis earlier in the year.
