The Hunter's Moon is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon, the full moon nearest the autumn equinox.

In the northern hemisphere, the Hunter's Moon appears in October or November. The Hunter's Moon, in the northern hemisphere, appears in October about two thirds of the time. While it appears about one third of the time in November. In addition, the autumn full moons tend to rise in the early evening and because of the low arc the Moon appears to make through the night sky, it appears brighter and bigger than during other times of the year. This additional light from the moon is said to help hunters stalk their prey -- therefore the name Hunter's Moon.
