April Vokey

April Vokey (born April 10th, 1983) is a Canadian angler, guide and free-lance columnist. She is the West-Coast field editor for the Canadian Fly Fisher magazine (6) where her works are distributed to thousands of subscribers across North America (19). She is currently considered one of the leading female anglers in the fishing industry.

Biography

Personal Life

Vokey, along with her sister, Dana, was born in Surrey, B.C., where she attended and completed high school and University. Here she majored in music, before discovering her passion for fly-fishing and switching career paths. She once graced the stage with leading roles in musical theatre and solo concerts. April is a self-taught angler (2+10)and now spends her days chasing wild steelhead with her Spey rod (6). She is an avid fly-tier and is most passionate about Atlantic Salmon patterns, spending much of her free time practising this intricate art (6). April owns a fly-fishing school that caters to newcomers of every age and sex (20).


Career

Vokey began fishing conventional gear at an early age, and throughout the years, progressed to the art of fly-fishing. She began working for the Canadian Fly Fisher magazine in 2006, where she has appeared on the cover, and regularly contributes feature articles. Other magazines her articles and photos can be found in include, Salmon Trout Steelheader (STS), Field and Steam, Fish Frontiers(1,2,3,4,5), Fashion and Fly-Fishing (Japanese), Wedkarski Swiat (Polish)(17) where she was featured on the cover. She has also been featured in DVD's for Fly Max Films (18), Carl Mann's Columbia Country (16) and Fly-Fishing on the Web (9).

Mikhail, Coptic Orthodox Metropolitan of Asyut

Anba Mikhail (born 1911 or 1912), is the Elder Metropolitan of the Holy Metropolis of Asyut (Lycopolis), (Hieracon) and (Apollonopolis Parva) and Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Macarius the Great, in Scetes, Lower Egypt of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria.

Metropolitan Mikhail was born in 1911 or 1912, in the poor family of Egyptian Coptic Christians[4]. He became monk of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria on 19 February 1939[5]. He was ordained priest on 17 November 1939[6]. He has served as Coptic Orthodox Metropolitan of Asyut since 1946. His episcopal ordination took place on 25 August 1946[7]. At present he is probably the most senior Oriental orthodox bishop in the date of episcopal ordination in the world[8].

Blondell Cummings

Blondell Cummings is an dancer, cheographer and an entertainer. She has performed all around the world with different artists, ranging from dancers to singers.

Blondell is the oldest child in the Cummings family. She was born in the Effingham, South Carolina. Her mother Oralee Cummings and Father, Roscoe Cummings, decided to move to Harlem. Her is wear she learned to dance and become a big sister. In the late 50's Hilda and Gaynell became where born into the Cummings family.

TEI of Patras

The Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Patras was Founded in 1970 as a Higher Technological Educational Centre.

In 1983, all Technological Educational Institutes changed their statute by application of the 1404/83 act.

So, the Technological Educational Institute of Patras was founded as an independent and self-governed N.P.D.D that belongs along with Universities to Greek Third-Grade Education. The Institute is Application Research and Technology oriented while the Universities are mostly dedicated to theoretical and principle research.

The Institute is situated not far from the City Centre of Patras, in a quiet and pleasant 100 acres estate, 4 Km away from the Centre. The 100 years old Palm Trees and Lebaneze Cedar trees, cast a unique beauty. The buildings extend for 54.000 square meters.

Access to the T.E.I

From Athens to T.E.I.

From Athens to Patras, go through the Athens - Patras National Road, follow the Ring Road and take the Glaukos Exit. Keep straight at the Patrwn Clauss road for 1.5 Km and find at your left side the Institute's campus.

Patras is connected with Athens by regular coach services (KTEL), every 30 min witha trip time of about 2,5 hours. In Athens, the main coach station is called "KTEL Peloponissou", at 100 Kifissou Str., telephone: +30 210 5124910. In Patras, the coach station is located at the centre of Patras, at 2 Zaimi Str. and Othonos Amalias Str., telephone: +30 2610 623886-8.

There are also daily coach services to all major cities of Greece, the Ionian Islands and the well-known archaeological sites (Olympia, Delphi, Kalavryta).


From Patras to the T.E.I by Bus

The Institute is connected to the city through two bus transport lines, 2 and 7. Line 2, every 10 min, which follows Maizonos Road, and makes a direct stop to the Institutes Central Gate that faces Avlonos St. Line 7, every 15 minutes, which follows Gounari St, and makes a stop at the Koukos Intesection.

Notable Ex-General Hospital Writers

A.J. Russell [24]: earned three Emmy Award nominations and won once, in 1957, for his work on The Phil Silvers Show. Russell was also a writer for The Jackie Gleason Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, and The Honeymooners. He died in late 1999, at the age of 84.

Jack Turley [25]

Robert J. Shaw (ex-Head Writer of GH)[26]: Shaw was an American television writer and teacher at UCLA. He learned his craft at the University of Wisconsin where he studied under such literary luminaries as Wallace Stegner and Sinclair Lewis. He sold his first concept for a radio program, Front Page Farrell, to NBC in 1940. He subsequently went on to work on Mr. District Attorney, Stella Dallas, Search For Tomorrow, and Portia Faces Life. With Robert Montgomery Presents, Shaw launched his television writing career. He worked on Hawaiian Eye, Peyton Place, Dallas, and General Hospital. During his career, Shaw earned seven Emmys. [27]
