Titan Media is a San Francisco based gay pornographic film company founded by director and cinematographer Bruce Cam in 1995.[1] The company quickly grew to become one of the largest producers of gay adult content in the world. According to Cam, the company was created to "Eroticize safer-sex and portray positive gay sexuality, with a wide range of men, set in the panorama of nature."[2]

History

Titan Media was founded in 1995 by Bruce Cam quickly grew to become one of the largest producers of gay adult content in the world. In 2001, the company launched a mid-priced product line under the ManPlay brand; and more recently launched a younger line of products under the TitanMen Fresh label. Titan has recently acquired former gay porn studio, MSR, and has been re-releasing their old videos on DVD.[3]

Events frequented by Titan Media are Folsom Street Fair, Los Angeles Gay Pride, San Francisco Gay Pride, Dore Alley, and Folsom Street East.

Controversy

In October 2007, Bruce Cam refused to accept a Lifetime Achievement DAVID Award because he is strongly opposed to Treasure Island Media, which features barebacking, and they also won awards. at the same event.[4] In a statement Cam said

I cannot in good conscience accept a Lifetime Achievement award from an organization that glorifies and promotes bareback content alongside my own,” Cam said. “I have worked my entire adult industry career to promote and eroticize safer sex content in all of my films. It would be against every single fiber of my moral being to accept this award.[4]

During this year, Titan was nominated for four awards. [1]
