George Friend

George Friend (born October 19, 1987) is an English professional footballer, who plays as a Defender. He comes from Exeter City but will officially sign for Wolverhampton Wanderers on deadline day.[1]

Career

Friend was handed a two-year contract in March 2006, having previously played for the youth team set-up at the club, as well continuing to study for his 'A' Levels. He had a loan spell with Tiverton Town at the start of the 2005-06 season and with Team Bath in December 2006. He made his senior debut for the Grecians in the Victor Gladwish Cup at Aldershot Town in 2004-05 and his Conference National debut at Forest Green Rovers in April 2006.

He can play at left-back, centre-back or even as a left-sided midfield player.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Exeter City have officially accepted a bid - an undisclosed figure - from Wolves. Medical pending, he will sign a two-year contract with option for a third year[2]
