Duvvuri Subbarao has been appointed as the next governor of the Reserve Bank of India, replacing Y.V. Reddy, whose term expires on September 5.
Subbarao currently serves as the finance secretary of India, having previously worked in the Planning Commission and the ministry of finance and company affairs. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1972. [1]
