Gustavo Ruiz Diaz (born September 29, 1981) is an Argentinian footballer for Emelec in the Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol.
Carrier
He started and played most of his carrier for little know argentinian side Los Andes playing in the lower divisions of argentinian football system. He became one of the most important members of his team, so much that he was named captain of the squad for his last two seasons at Los Andes. On april of 2008 Ruiz Diaz was signed by ecuadorian giants Emelec on a one year contract. Since his arrival to Emelec he struggled to be pat of the first team, and both the press and former Emelec's coach, Anibal Ruiz, considered Ruiz Diaz to be an unworthy player for Emelec. However, in time, Ruiz Diaz has demonstrated to be a valuable member of Emelec's squad and he is at the momment the only foreign player in the Club to be considered for a posible contract extension into the next season.
