No Mercy (2008) will be the eleventh annual No Mercy professional wrestling pay-per-view event held by American promotion, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It will take place on October 5, 2008 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon and will feature talent from the Raw, Smackdown, and ECW brands.[2]

Background

It was announced on the September 8, 2008 edition of Raw that Candice Michelle (Candice Beckman-Ehrlich) would receive a standard wrestling match (usually known as a singles match) for the WWE Women's Championship. She would face the winner of a title match between the champion Beth Phoenix (Elizabeth Carolan) and Mickie James, which Phoenix won later during the episode. As a result, Michelle will face Phoenix at No Mercy for the title in a singles match.
