Drukchen Jigme Pema Wangchen (b. 1963 ) is the head of the Dongyud Pelden Drukpa school, which is one of the independent Sarma (new) schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Some consider it as the Northern (Tib. Chang, Wylie: Byang-'Brug) Drukpa.[1] His Holiness Drukchen Jigme Pema Wangchen is the twelfth and present incarnation of the Gyalwang Drukpa.

His Holiness is well-known for his non-political approach to Tibetan Buddhism and therefore has recently decided to rename his lineage Drukpa Lineage.[citation needed]
