Puerto Rico Highway 102 is a main highway in southwestern Puerto Rico. It begins at Puerto Rico Highway 2 north of central Mayagüez and runs through the municipalities of Cabo Rojo and San German coming to an end in downtown Sabana Grande.
Mayagüez
PR-102 begins as a two-lane road at a T-intersection with PR-2 north of the Mar y Sol neighborhood. The road continues southwest for .23 miles down a relatively steep grade where it intersects PR-64 to become the six-lane divided arterial highway named Jose G. Clemente Street which runs through the Canderlaria Public Housing Complex. The highway then crosses the Yagüez River and runs through a light industrial area immediately west of central Mayagüez. Immediately following the bridge crossing, PR-2 intersects with two of Mayagüez's most important streets; Mendez-Vigo Street and de la Candelaria Street (formerly McKinley Street). Along this stretch the road decreases unofficially to four-lanes since pavement markings are non-existant and carries the name Gonzalez Clemente Avenue. A half mile south of the river crossing, PR-102 enters a new traffic pattern and becomes a six-lane divided boulevard named Guanajibo Boulevard. This area is currently under construction in preparation for hosting the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. after crossing the Guanajibo River, the route retains its name but becomes a two-lane road running through Mayagüez's coastal communities.
Cabo Rojo
After leaving Mayagüez, PR-102 becomes rural and for most of its length. It continues running south along the coastline eventually passing through the seaside resort, fishing and tourist community of Joyuda, Cabo Rojo. After Joyuda, PR-102 curves eastward where it intersects PR-100 and then proceeds through downtown Cabo Rojo. Once exiting the town, the route travels through countryside until entering San German's downtown. After leaving downtown San German, the road once again travels through rural communities on its way to its terminus at an intersection with PR-2 in downtown Sabana Grande.
