Archana Puran Singh

Archana Puran Singh (born 1962) [1] is an Indian television and fim actor, who is most known for a comedy roles, and as a judge on Comedy shows [2], like Sony TV India's Comedy Circus.

Career

Archana Puran Singh made her debut in the year 1987, in the movie Jalwa opposite Naseeruddin Shah. Although the movie was a big hit, Archana failed to catch the eye of the leading producers & directors & got offers mainly for B-grade movies most of which were short on content & more of soft porn type. Archana however later did get offers for doing small roles in some big banner Blockbusters like Agneepath but this leter changed into Archana doing item songs,one such movie of her was in Govinda starrer thriller Baaz & Suniel Shetty starrer Judge Mujrim, in both she did a lot of exposing & a very hot item Songs,

Later on in her career she got offers from television producers & most of her Serials were big hits, Junoon & Shriman Shrimati for example & she soon became a big & busy television star & also started hosting chat shows featuring celebrity guests.

Now she is married to television actor Parmeet Sethi, who is six years younger than her, and have two sons. She is now again doing roles in films although she is now a character artist with mostly comedy type roles & some of her recent movies like Love Story 2050, Mohabbatein, Krrish, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Masti to name a few.

In television, she first entered with her tongue and cheek show, Kya Seen Hai, supplying Bollywood gossip in the 1990s, later in 2005 as a contestant in Dance reality show - Nach Baliye (Season 1), in which she participated along with her husband, Parmeet Sethi, they were eliminated in Episode 6 [3]. There after she appeared as a judge on comedies shows, including the Sony TV India's Comedy Circus, in she appeared as judge in Comedy Circus (season 1) (2007) and Comedy Circus (season 2) (2008) [4].
