Shahab (Template:Lang-fa) is a male first name in Iran.

The meaning of Shahab is "meteor" or "shooting star". In Persian, the first "a" is pronounced like in "Antilope". The second "a" is pronounced like in "bus". (THERE IS NO "A" IN BUS.)


A common variation of the name Shahab is "Shahaboddin" meaning "Meteor of the Religion".
