Map of departments of Mauritania, particularly Amourj
Hello there,
I found your name from a map created for the Hodh Ech Chargui region of Mauritania. I am currently beginning a stub project for all the departments of Mauritania. Could you make a map I can use for the Amourj department to begin with, probably more forthcoming?--Thomas.macmillan 00:02, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Maps for Congo-Kinshasa
Hi Rarelibra,
I saw the maps you made for Congo-Brazzaville. What level of subdivision do you have for the DRC? --moyogo 14:51, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Moyogo - I only have province-level boundary data (or 1st level administrative) for DRC. I am always looking and expanding my dataset, so if I run across more I will let you know! :) Rarelibra 14:54, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- I just noticed [this web site] - if these are the 2nd level administrative zones, let me know and I will work on getting them digital. Rarelibra 14:58, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- The Congosite map is actually the current 3rd level (territoire) or seems to be. Unfortunately the cities are spotted so their contours is invisible.
- I'm no sure whether the current 2nd level (district) will still exists in the new orgonisation of the country, since all the new provinces are pretty much the districts themselves, except for Bas-Congo which stays a single province and two districts of the Katanga which become one province together. Every other district becomes a province. In any case, let met know if you have a digitized form (vector or raster) of the current 3rd level.
- [1] has the current 1st and 2nd level. There is also a 4th level, but I don't think it's anywhere out there. Cheers. --moyogo 15:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, [2], [3], [4] seem to have the current level 3. --moyogo 15:32, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, that was fast. Nice work too! It seems only the borders of the cities are missing. Matadi, Bandundu, Mbandaka, Kisangani, Goma, Kananga, should probably have borders of their own. The map [5] (also in TIFF and JPG) has borders for those cities.--moyogo 20:25, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Graphics Lab
I saw your name listed on Wikiproject Illustration or the list of graphic artists, and I thought I'd let you know that a Graphics Lab has been created on EN. Based on the highly successful French and German graphics labs, it seeks to better organise and coordinate our graphic design and photo-editing efforts. Up until now, there has been no common space on EN where users could ask for maps, charts and other SVG files to be created. What's more, the Graphics Lab has discussion boards, tips, tools and links; in sum, a good common workspace. Come help us out! The infrastucture is already in place, and now we need participants. :) --Zantastik talk 02:07, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Maps for Israel
Hello! I was wondering if it would be possible to ask for you assistance in creating some maps for the state of Israel. Besides some basic maps highlighting the different districts, the are no useful maps that could be inserted into geographical articles. Thank you very much! Db1944 17:10, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Help needed
Dear Rarelibra, If you share some time, your help needed for geography of Turkey. I am trying to organize rivers, mountains. I create a Template:Infobox River TR, and trying to find river articles (many of them created by Greek users with Greek names and not include any "Turk",Turkey, words)to add this template to fill info and to add map. 1-Can you help to prepare locator maps for mounts and rivers.? 2-Can you find coord info for these (source and mouth coord. for rivers, and coord. for peaks of mounts) Please take a look here . Regards MustTC 22:03, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I good deal. Thanks. Then may we use this db for other geographic locations; like villages, ancient sites, etc.?
- If I didnt misunderstand; now we need clear lists of articles (topic by topic).
- Ok.will be done asap.

Afghan maps
Hi Rarelibra. Personally, I do not know which colors to pick. I'll leave that to you :) It'll probably good too choose the same colors (with small variation) for the same ethno-linguistic groups. For example Greenish colors for Persian-speakers (Tajiks/Persians, Hazaras, Chahr Aimaq), purple for Pashtuns, and yellowish colors for the Turkic-speakers (Turkmen and Uzbeks). What do you think? Tājik 11:29, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Tajik - I received the note on my talk page about the need for the language maps for Afghanistan. I will take a look at the maps you provided links to, and definitely create some "wiki originals" for your free use. Give me a few days, and I will let you know when I am done! :) Rarelibra 14:44, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Tajik. I'm guessing you sent these two [6] [7] maps to Rarelibra. Just curious, is he going to use the same colors as those maps? I'd prefer some slightly different colours. For example for Tajiks and Persian I think green is a good colour. Actually, thats the only preference I have. Maybe somethink like this [8] [9] in terms of colors. I think you know which colors to chose. So if you can please tell him/her my request or just overall what colors you would like since you know best. Great work, I am very much looking forward to this. Thanks. Behnam 17:28, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Benham - before I finalize the maps, let me know any specific color requests. The outlines are done, so let me know and I will create and post on Commons. Good news is, your maps will be the first I create in SVG format. Rarelibra 19:44, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi Rarelibra. I hope your doing good. Hey just curious, have you yet finished the ethnic and language maps of Afghanistan you were working on? -- Behnam 21:05, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Image request
Hi Rarelibra. I'm working my way down the List of missing Africa topics and I came across Kangaba, a new (created in January) cercle of Mali. Could you please update Image:Koulikoro_cercles.png to include it? Image:Cercle Kangaba.PNG shows its location. Picaroon 22:42, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Picaroon - this is the kind of feedback I appreciate very much! Of course I will update it... give me up to a week or so (sometimes faster). Cheers! Rarelibra 02:07, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Central Asian Maps
Hi - I recently noticed your work on Districts of Turkmenistan and Sums of Mongolia, and I was really impressed. Do you know any further sources that you could use to make district level maps of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan? None of those countries have disrict level info available. Also, anything I can do to help you (if you decide to do it), let me know and I'll try to do. Aelfthrytha 06:13, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Map request: political map of Africa
Hello. I recently noticed some of the maps you had created for Districts of Zimbabwe and was most impressed. After also noticing that you are a member of WikiProject Africa and that you take map creation/editing requests, I have decided to come to you for assistance: could you modify either Image:BlankMap-Africa.png or Image:Blank Map-Africa.svg to add Cape Verde, the Comoros, and the Canary Islands.
There may be other minor issues with the map(s), but the omission of those three relatively large island groups stands out. I want to create a map of Africa for the article Afrobarometer, but do not want to do so with an incomplete map (especially since Cape Verde is one of the countries I would need to highlight). Please let me know if you will be able to do it. Thank you, Black Falcon (Talk) 19:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Two Africa-related requests within a few minutes of each other ... coincidence or conspiracy? :P Black Falcon (Talk) 20:42, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
In the case you have somr time to throw away
(Edit conflict) Hi Rarelibra, I've noted that you're really good with maps, and that maybe, if you haven't anything more interesting to work on at the moment, you could spare me some of your time. I've noted you've done second-level administrative divisions of Niger (Arrondissements of Niger). Could you try to do a similar work for the bordering country with Departments of Chad? While Golbez was so nice to provide me with the first-level division (Regions of Chad), I unfortunately miss the maps of the country's departments. Obviously, if you don't feel like doing it for any reason, no problem, anyway the articles won't rot anyway ;-) (I no nobody will believe this, but actually it's a pure coincidence Black Falcon posted a similar request in exactly the same moment). Ciao, --Aldux 19:58, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, if it could be possible. You once made this map of the departments of Chad [10]; its problem is that there aren't any names of the various departments, so if a department is nominated in an article it can't be identified in the map. For this I think that a solution like the one you adopted for the arrondissements of Niger, with the names of the districts given, maps like this one I mean [11]. Thanks for anything you can do. Again, ciao--Aldux 20:34, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Algeria maps
Hi Rarelibra! First, I'm just impressed by all those maps you made, I'm personally also very interested in geography :-) I want to know if you can help me on a task I have for the political subdivisions of Algeria. I currently made a map for the provinces of Algeria, which I'm going to upload, and one for a city locator to remplate the one I already made. I have maps from another source contaning maps of second- and third-level administrative divisions, which I tried to modifiy to use here on Wikipedia but where I failed (Let's say, I'm not good at "graphical design"). I would appreciate if you got some spare time for me, or if you could help me on these maps. Greetings. --escondites 16:32, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Maps of districts of Vietnam
Hi, I see that you made this map of Vietnamese districts. In the Vietnamese Wikipedia project we currently have several hundred articles for individual districts of Vietnam but none of them have maps indicating their positions. It would be great if you would create the map for each district, highlighting them in the map of the province it's in. You can use this mapping database for the most up-to-date info (just choose a province and click on "Xem bản đồ" to see its districts mapped). Thank you very much! Bolivia cantons
Glad you are starting this. I was going to start them but if you can get the list complete I'll help stub them . You are a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject South America/Bolivia work group right? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 17:35, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- I am now. :) I was doing the admin levels for my database, and came across THIS website that, as you click down into the municipalities, appears to show the canton boundaries. It will take a bit of time, but I will be able to decipher this and provide info and a map (or maps). Rarelibra (talk) 17:38, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
I've just added Municipalities of Bolivia but cantons will take a bit longer. I noticed not even some provinces are started. Bolvivia is one of the countries on my hot list of improving coverage. Best place to start is geogrpahically ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:03, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Next stage will be to red link the municipios create some templates by department and get them started. I'd imagine its probably best to combine municipalities with the city articles until they develop. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:04, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
I think the list looks better condensed. Now there are huge spaces and the page is longer than necessary. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:19, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Doesn't matter though. That would be great if you can create maps. I'll set about creating the templates and starting them ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:20, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- It will look more complete after I do the maps by Province to show the municipalities in color. Rarelibra (talk) 18:55, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there. Two years ago, I started writing articles about Bolivia's provinces, municipios and cantones on the German Wikipedia, and a few on the English Wikipedia as well. The results of my attempts so far can be seen at Benutzer:Meister and List of administrative units. My sources have been AGUABOLIVIA and ENLARED and a few others as you can see if you look at some of the German articles. -- Meister (talk) 11:06, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Chilean islands east and south of Tierra del Fuego
Hello, Rarelibra. At your map of Chilean administrative divisions was lost a number of Chilean islands:
- Navarino Island
- Picton, Lennox and Nueva islands
- Wollaston Islands and wellknown Hornos Island
These islands are extremely southern in all Americas (Diego Ramírez Islands are not at your map also, these Chilean islands are 100 km SW from Cape Horn). It is not any personal pointing, I hope. If you will add listed topics to your map it would be a map of all Chilean territory, my collegue. Bogomolov.PL (talk) 17:31, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I can always count on you, my friend. :) I will update the map in the next few days. Rarelibra (talk) 17:53, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Markazes of Egypt
Hi,
I would like to inform you that the map of Markazes (second-level administrative divisions) of Egypt has been changed, as a result of changing some of the Governorates (first-level administrative divisions) in April, 2008.
Now, I updated Image:Egypt governorates.png (though the result is not so good, as i used Paint program). But I could not update the "Markazes" as it is too complicated. I can help you, though, if you are willing to update the map. Also I think there is something wrong with the ratio of the map (length to width ratio). Anyway, let me know what you think. I request the members to kindly have a look , carefully verify ALL the categories and remove all the possibly wrong categories. Please Dont misunderstand by being cautious here , as we have faced many issues with such huge scale bot tagging earlier. Once I get the final go ahead, I will start the bot with the final list. Thank you for choosing TinucherianBot for the project,. It is a pleasure working for this project...I have also left a note at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Vietnam#Project_talk_page_tagging and request your comments there. Maps for Central Asia
Hey Rarelibra...a while back I inquired about rayon maps of the Central Asian nations. You made Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Did you ever create one for Uzbekistan?
Also, I was looking at your map of the entire world with first and second level administrative areas. Can you make a map like that for each of the continents as well? Marathone (talk) 20:38, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Marathone - Uzbekistan is still on my "to do" list. I promise you it will receive attention soon.
- The map of the entire world has more than just first and second level admin areas, by the way - there are some countries that have up to 5, 6, or 7 admin areas on that map. I don't really know if I will make one for the individual continents - but that is a good idea for me to consider. That large map is only intended to give the reader an idea of the amount of diversity of scale of admin units of the world, nothing more. Rarelibra (talk) 20:58, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
What I could really use for a population project are maps of each continent with outlines of countries and the first tier-admins (states, provinces, districts, etc.). I found one of Europe already with the NUTS III regions and already transformed it into a color population growth map which turned out really well. Ideally I could still use an outline map of nations and first-level subdivisions for Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Actually, if you could make a version of that worldwide map, but only go down to the first-tier subdivisions of countries (states in US, Australia, Mexico, India; provinces in Canada, South Africa, China; etc., that could probably work!
Thanks for all your time already spent! Marathone (talk) 10:40, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Lakes in India
While you have created the article on List of Lakes in India, it has not been enlarged for quite some time.I ave now tried to add more names and also expand on each artcile. But who are the admin people of wiki who are looking after these pages on lakes since there is no discussion on any of these arcicles? --Nvvchar (talk) 06:32, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- I don't quite understand, Nvvchar. I created the List of lakes in India because there were more than 10 lakes within the main list. Most list articles are just that - lists. As far as expanding the main articles about lakes - that is up to an editor that is interested, I guess. Rarelibra (talk) 12:55, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Districts of Uzbekistan
I will be delighted to help. The question is how: I have absolutely no skills making graphic changes in maps. If you send me files with your basic information, I will be glad to annotate, add keys, etc. -- but all this in the margins, not on the map itself. You will note that I am putting the districts by province from west to east. So perhaps we can try to work by province. Tell me what you need. Look forward to hearing from you. --Zlerman (talk) 14:34, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Perfect. Look in Jizzakh Province to see how I handled a similar situation based on a keyed map generated by a ru:wiki user. How will you send me your maps? E-mail is probably easiest: see my user page for the address. Or any other method. --Zlerman (talk) 14:47, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- Isee there is an outline map of the districts of Uzbekistan...excellent! Thanks guys! (talk) 17:57, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
