Laxman Mane

Laxman Mane is a well-known, contemporary Marathi author and social activitist. He is mostly known for his autobiography Upara (An outsider), for which he has got Sahitya Akademi Award. He is also known for his acceptance of Buddhism, along with a lot of people from Nomadic Tribes. He converted to Buddhism in october 2006[1]

Life

Laxman Mane was born on June 1, 1949 in a Kakadi community, which is a nomadic tribe. He has bone is BA from Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu College, Kolhapur.[2]
