Markovac or Marcovăţ (Template:Lang-sr, Template:Lang-ro) is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Vršac municipality, in the South Banat District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Romanian ethnic majority and its population numbering 329 people (2002 census).

Markovac is the birthplace of Romulus Gaita (1922 - 1996), the father of Australian philosopher Raimond Gaita. The life of Romulus Gaita is outlined in the novel Romulus, My Father.
