Stephen Docherty (born February 18, 1976) is a Scottish footballer currently playing within the ranks of Scottish Junior Football. He is previously of the Scottish Football League clubs Partick Thistle and Clydebank and played for both Airdrieonians and their re-inacarnation Airdrie United following the former's demise in 2002.

It is notable that he scored Airdrie United's first ever goal. Said goal came at New Broomfield in the Diamonds' 1-0 win over Forfar Athletic in their first ever league match. He was also captain of the club and was inducted into the Airdrie United "Hall of Fame" in 2007.

Stephen lead Bathgate Thistle to the Scotish junior cup final walking away with the cup with a 2-1 victory over cumnock and made his international debut for Scotland ,picking up player of the tournament in Quad home nations tournament in the Isle of Man, he is recovering from a knee operation and is yet to make an appearance in the current season. At present he also works for Porcelanosa as a business development manager.
