Peter Cox, 1925-2008 Died October 6, 2008.
[1]
He was touched by Labor politics before birth. In 1949 he joined the ALP , he won preselection for Auburn at 39 and entered the Legislative Assembly in 1965, when Labor, led by Jack Renshaw, lost power. He became the opposition transport spokesman in 1968. He was quick with catchphrases. NSW Labor Premier Wran appointed him minister for transport and highways, in May 1976, this ranked him third in cabinet seniority. <ref>Sydney Morning Herald 13 October 2008 obituary<ref>
