Internationalization Index, criterion used by the UN to rank nations and companies in evaluating their degree of integration with the world economy.

The six dimensions of the Internationalization Index are:

  • Articulated commitment.
  • Academic offerings.
  • Organizational infrastructure.
  • External funding.
  • Institutional investment in faculty.
  • International students and student programs (def. by American Council on Education)
