Nikki Hayes (born May 6, 1979) is a DJ on RTÉ 2fm since November 2003. She hails from Wicklow. She obtained a show of her own during the weekends. Then, when Rick O'Shea moved to present his now defunct breakfast show with Ruth Scott, Nikki replaced him and in doing so was given her own weekday show which was broadcast from Monday until Thursday from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.

She has since moved to a new weekday show broadcast from midday until 2 p.m. The "all-request" lunch show features Nikki presenting alone with listeners sending in requests by text, phone and the popular networking site, Bebo.

Personal life

Hayes lives in remote Baltinglass, County Wicklow. Her preferred moisturiser is Clinique's Dramatically Different. [1]

Personal expenses

In an interview with the Irish Independent in August 2006, Hayes spoke of her regret at having no SSIA. She purchased her house in 2003 for €169,000, the value of which has since risen to €270,000. Due to her remote living conditions she spends a substantial amount of money on taxis to chauffeur her to Naas or Carlow should she require any dietary purchases. She occasionally spends nights in Dublin hotels. Hayes's choice of car is a Mitsubishi Pajero Junior which costs her €120 per week to refuel if she is working in Dublin but much more if she were to drive elsewhere. She opts for pints of alcohol in an attempt to curb her spending habits. She particularly likes to indulge her habit of spending on clothes, regularly spending at least half her wages in Dundrum Town Centre. Hayes ensures she has up to five holidays annually, one of which tends to be to the United States to visit her sister in New York and Florida and two more holidays per annum in the Canary Islands. In 2006 she also went to Paris. Her holidays tend to be at most for one week at a time but she also holidays for many weekends. In 2006 she hired an accountant to take care of all the financial incomes she reels in from radio, television, DJing and personal appearances. From October of that year she started to put her payments through a limited company she set up. [2]
