Season of Poison is the upcoming second studio album by American band Shiny Toy Guns. On August 5, 2008, bassist Jeremy Dawson announced through the band's MySpace that the second studio album was complete and is set to be released on November 4, 2008. The album features a brand new lead female singer, Sisely Treasure.[1]
To advertise the new album coming out, Shiny Toy Guns have been releasing viral videos. These videos are about 30 seconds long and feature snippets of songs. The newest video is titled 'When did this storm begin'.
On August 22, 2008 at 8:57 AM, Jeremy Dawson sent out an email containing a link to an mp3 of their new single, "Ricochet!". On October 16 2008, Shiny Toy Guns released the music video for 'Ricochet', the first song from the album. The title of the song 'Ricochet' has its origins in a dispute over the lyrics of the aforementioned song. Chad Petree exclaimed to Jeremy Dawson after a long night of partying "You ricochet, you just don't notice!"
On October 19, 2008, Shiny Toy Guns posted a countdown timer to Season of Poison and snippets of three new songs, "Season of Love", "I Owe You A Love Song", and "Blown Away" on their Myspace. The countdown timer also notes that a new song will be available by Friday, October 24, 2008.
Notably, the album leaked on the internet on October 21, 2008.
