2008–2009 Volvo Ocean Race
Appearance
The 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race is held between October 4, 2008 and June 27, 2009. Eight boats are taking part in the race and make ten stops in nine countries.
The first offshore leg of the 10th Volvo Ocean Race started in Alicante, Spain, on October 11, 2008, with the in-port race having been held seven days earlier. A total of 10 legs create the route, with seven in-port races held at various cities around the world. The chief executive of the 08-09 race is Knut Frostad.
