List of sovereign state flags

The list of sovereign state flags displays flags representing sovereign states in the list of sovereign states. For flags of other nations see the flags of non-sovereign nations. This list shows the flags with a fixed width in their original proportions, which is why the heights vary. The international status of Palestine is further supported, short of further present recognition as a state, by non-recognizing countries' according the (at least closely associated) Palestinian Authority a pivotal role in the process that may involve their eventually recognizing a State of Palestine.
