The EFM™32 is a family of 32-bit RISC Flash microcontrollers (MCU) designed by Energy Micro AS. EFM32 is a mixed-signal MCU focusing on supporting ultra low power battery operated solutions[1]. The central processing unit in EFM32 is the Cortex-M3[2] from ARM. This processor is one in a series of processors from ARM and was built for low power operation[3]. Energy Micro announced the first large EFM32 user in September 2008[4].
