Barrister GP Pillai was admitted to the Bar-at-Law, England in 1898. He was an early practicing adovocate in the Madras High Court. He later established the first English Newspaper in South India - Madras Standard. GP was born in Alathoor in Kerala, in an aristocratic nair family.
