List of Sgt. Frog episodes
This is the list of episodes of the anime series Sgt. Frog.
Season 1
The first season aired for a whole year from April 2004 to March 2005.
Episode | Airdate | Title | Synopsis |
---|---|---|---|
30 | 23 October 2004 | Tamama, Youth From Keron Planet / Momoka's Ideal Nice Body | We meet Taruru, one of Tamama's martial arts students, who lands on Earth to visit his number one idol Tamama - who's been secretly feeding a pile of hogwash to the boys back home, embellishing his own image while deflating everyone else around him (except Keroro). Only after Taruru leaves do the three remaining Keronians, the Hinata children, Paul and Momoka gather around Tamama and exact some overdue justice.
Momoka hatches a plan to make herself more physically attractive to Fuyuki, and Tamama enlists Keroro's assistance in this matter. A large number of Kururu's inventions get showcased here (and tested on Giroro, with painful results), but just as Momoka loses all hope, she chances upon something new - Hinata Aki DNA Pills, which prove a little too effective... and not just on Momoka... |
31 | 30 October 2004 | Keroro, Wanting To Go Back Home, But Can't | A restless Keroro hops on his new space motorbike KRR-SP and takes off... His bike breaks down and strands him in the middle of nowhere. Cold, hungry and lonely, Keroro wants to go home, but can't. He doesn't even know where he is, except in the mountains. It's now up to Natsumi to go out and bring her stupid frog back home. |
32 | 6 November 2004 | Keroro Animal Platoon Assemble / Giroro Wants To Say | Keroro's latest scheme involves recruiting Earth's animals into his invasion army, with the help of Kururu's 'We All Live Together' beam gun that turns animals into humans. The scheme predictably backfires, as none of the animals are interested in joining Keroro at all - even the mighty Bengal Tiger, spoiling for a fight from the moment he is turned, is against the idea of going to war. When Keroro unwittingly reveals his intention to replace the Keroro platoon with animals, the normally loyal soldiers stand aside as Keroro raises more animals than he can lay down.
The cat that Giroro brought in from the rain has now become his most loyal companion, so much that it's started to express great jealousy in Natsumi's presence. When a distressed Giroro wants to give Natsumi a pinecone pendant but can't, the cat feels his distress and wants to help, but also can't... until the 'We All Live Together' beam gun winds up in its paws. |
33 | 13 November 2004 | Keroro Platoon Invades Pekopon In the Anime | Witnessing the merchandising power of the 'Admiral Geroro' anime, Keroro hatches a new scheme to conquer Earth throuugh the creation of his own anime - but the actual process, from storyboarding to artwork to animation, prove far too troublesome and frustrating for the Keroro platoon to handle. They pay a visit to an actual animation studio, picking up the tricks of the trade, and after returning to work, the final product is ready for viewing - but Keroro decides that more work is needed, and returns to the research & development stage (the fact that said final product turned out to be quite horrible isn't even brought up). |
34 | 20 November 2004 | Momoka vs. Koyuki Hotspring Battle / Keroro and Fuyuki Go Together | After experimenting with several types of fortune-telling, Momoka learns that her romantic destiny with Fuyuki will be realised in an onsen. Thus she engineers a scheme of her own, allowing Fuyuki to 'win' an onsen trip for the whole Hinata family and one guest... problems arise when Keroro and Koyuki have their minds set on that guest ticket at the same time. While Keroro is easily dispatched with the task of solving a Rubik's Cube, Kururu forces Momoka and Koyuki to battle each other for the guest ticket, and tradition clashes with technology as Koyuki pits her ninja skills against Momoka's new robotic battlesuit!
Fuyuki is late for school, while Keroro is fleeing Natsumi's wrath after breaking her mug - the two meet each other on a shortcut to school. With Mutsumi standing in for the narrator, the simple act of walking down this seldom-used lane, filled with old memories and new discoveries, turns into an evening to remember. |
35 | 27 November 2004 | Top Secret! Natsumi's Birthday Strategy | Natsumi's birthday rolls around this year, and Keroro has big plans for a surprise party. However, Fuyuki has doubts in this plan; not least because Natsumi told him that she thought parties were childish. So, will the party work? |
36 | 4 December 2004 | Keroro Death Battle! Gunso vs. General Fuyu / Fuyuki That's How It Is, Nishizawa-San | Winter looms and temperatures take a dive - Keroro is introduced to Fuyu-Shogun, the General of Winter, which is really just a term given to the cold air currents originating from Siberia, but Keroro visualises Fuyu-Shogun as something resembling Demon Emperor Arago from Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. When the simple act of stepping out the front door proves too much for Keroro, he decides to go through endurance training to combat the cold front, and subjecting the Hinata children to the blizzard simulation against their will only shows them to be far more resourceful than Keroro was.
When Tamama tells Momoka about the blizzard simulation and the accidents that followed, Momoka offers to let the Keroro platoon continue training on her private snowy mountain resort - with the real intention of getting closer to Fuyuki, as usual. While the Keroro platoon starts trekking up the hazardous snowy mountains, Momoka puts her own plan into motion, activating the mountain resort's snow generators - but Kururu chooses to activate his private satellite's weather manipulation function at the same time, and the mountain resort is plunged into an artificial ice age. |
37 | 11 December 2004 | Dororo To The Ninja Classroom / Keroro's Dinosaur | Keroro's latest scheme involves making Dororo give ninja lessons to raise money for the platoon. When nobody actually signs up for said lessons, Keroro makes the rest of the platoon learn Dororo's ninja arts instead - but none of them seem to be serious about learning anything. To make matters worse, 556 sees their ninja lessons as competition against his own attempt to give Space Detective lessons, and tries to shut the operation down.
After Natsumi's radio show was interrupted by 556's invasion, it gets interrupted yet again by a pterodactyl flying into her room - it turns out that Keroro, inspired by a certain Hollywood movie, is using Keronian technology to clone dinosaur DNA and open a theme park featuring said dinosaurs. Using Kururu's mind control apparatus, Keroro has tamed a tyrannosaurus into doing his bidding, but an accident causes the mind control cone to come off the T-Rex's head (and onto Giroro's head), causing it to run wild through the underground base. |
38 | 18 December 2004 | Giroro Love Robot Soldiers / Giroro vs. Natsumi Re-encounter... | As part of a galactically-broadcast Candid Camera-esque program, Keroro plays a prank on Giroro, with the help of a Pekopon suit modelled after Natsumi, with Sumomo at the controls. Hilarity ensues as Giroro distracts himself from faux-Natsumi's advances with physical training and weapons maintenance - causing an exasperated Sumomo to attack Giroro, and incurring the wrath of the real Natsumi when she sees her own towel-clad self leaping across town. When she opts to stop them on her own, Kururu gives her his latest invention - the Natsumi battlesuit.
Natsumi finds herself stuck with Kururu's battlesuit, which has a tendency to activate when anyone nearby utters something even remotely sounding like the attack command. When the invade command kicks in, the battlesuit AI takes over Natsumi completely, causing her to destroy anything the Keroro platoon sends after her. Giroro is forced to confront her as well, and Kururu gives him the battlesuit deacivation code... "Natsumi, my love. Kiss me tender and hold me tight, forever!" |
39 | 25 December 2004 | Keroro Christmas Battle / Keroro Spring Cleaning Battle | Keroro hatches a new scheme for the Christmas season, but Dororo and Tamama refuse to go with it for different reasons. Tamama tells Keroro about Santa Claus, who knows when you've been naughty or nice, prompting Keroro to carry out investigations on Santa Claus. Unfortunately the Christmas season of cheer and good will begin to take effect, as Keroro's remaining loyalists Giroro and Kururu desert him as well. Left to his own devices, Keroro begins to discover the Christmas spirit in a way he hadn't really expected.
Keroro is unusually hot-blooded about spring-cleaning time, taking charge of housecleaning operations in the Hinata household, and imparting valuable tips and tricks to the Hinata family. At the end of the day, human and Keronian alike sit down for noodles, listen to the bells, and welcome the new year. |
40 | 8 January 2005 | Mois, Happy New Year? / Keroro The Food Is Good, Same For Homework | It's the first episode of the new year - and the Keroro platoon's New Year celebrations involve subjecting Giroro to different forms of abuse for some reason. While discussing new year resolutions, Angol Mois is reluctant to reveal hers, until a reaction in her alien physiology, triggered by Keroro's suspiciously glowing 'red bean soup', causes her to go completely berserk.
The Keroro platoon receive some mail from well-wishers at home, the Keronian children - and at least one reminder from Keron high command, ordering Keroro to submit a large amount of overdue homework immediately. With the help of his loyal troops, Keroro overcomes every possible distraction and completes the homework on time... but one last obstacle looms on the horizon... |
41 | 15 January 2005 | Keroro Invasion Strategy / Dororo Is a Fiery Spirit | Kururu develops a seemingly innocent board game which shrinks Natsumi and Fuyuki and places them in the middle of the action. Landing on any rewards and penalties on the squares turns them into reality, and while Fuyuki gets sidetrips to assorted wonders of the world, Natsumi winds up executing one impossible stunt after another. The final square is revealed to trigger the Keronian invasion, but this scheme falls apart as the square before it summons Angol Mois' father, the original Destroyer of Worlds!
Inspired by the sight of 556's attention-grabbing antics, Dororo asks him for help - and is fed with 556's vitriol and drive for life. Returning to the Keronian base, a pumped-up Dororo rallies his fellow soldiers, pushing them through all forms of training in order to master a new combined battle technique - but all his efforts to strengthen his own presence fall flat, as the other four promptly forget about him the moment they put their training to actual use. |
42 | 22 January 2005 | Keroro and The Red-Blooded Keroro Platoon / Tamama, Envious Friendship Shot | Inspired by watching World Cup soccer on TV, Keroro plans on pitting the superior Keronian forces against the best Earth has to offer - on the soccer field. Answering this challenge on the planet's behalf is Paul Japan, a team of top soccer players handpicked by Paul to defend the pride of soccer as a human sport.
Tamama makes friends with a boy he sees practicing his soccer moves everyday. He joins the boy in his daily routine, and even teaches him his trademark Jealousy Ball, adapted for soccer into the Jealousy Shoot - which destroys the boy's old soccer ball by accident. Fortunately the vast resources of the Nishizawa Peach Group fix the ball exactly as it was. Eventually, the boy learns to shed his defensive mindset and play better than he ever could, and Tamama has someone he can truly call a friend. |
43 | 29 January 2005 | Giroro The Red Demon Who Cannot Cry / Giroro, Flying into Setsubun | Inspired by a Japanese fairytale of the Red and Blue Oni, Keroro devices a plan to win over Natsumi. Playing the Blue Oni, a bad guy who was only doing so to bring happiness to his friends, he tries to force a romantic situation between her and Giroro. However, nothing goes to plan and the special romantic moment is shared by the Red and Green Alien instead.
Deciding that it is better to be the Red Oni, Keroro is quickly pelted with soybean by Natsumi on Setsubun. Wanting revenge, he has Kururu turn her into an Oni girl via the Oni ray gun. Now all soybean products are attacking Oni Natsumi and not even Giroro can save her. Being cornered, Natsumi almost yields to Keroro until Fuyuki reveals that Natsumi is a Thunder God. |
44 | 5 February 2005 | Keroro vs. Fuyuki Heated Sports Match / Kururu vs. Aki, Exploding Invasion of Robo | Kururu proposes a formal competition to compare human and Keronian physical proficiency. Natsumi, still seething after the events of episode 17, accepts Keroro's challenge, whereupon Keroro picks Fuyuki as his opponent. Momoka's snowy mountain complex forms the backdrop as Keroro and Fuyuki go to battle in winter sports, but one unexplained phenomena after another (a freak updraft, a stray missile, a bobsled rail coming off for no reason) threaten to throw the competition into disarray.
All the happenings in the first act are finally explained - Kururu's true intention was to build and test his new giant robot (which eager test pilot Hinata Aki dubs the Autumn H), without unnecessary distracions from the Hinata children and his fellow soldiers. Unfortunately Aki goes crazy with the robot's weapons, forcing Kururu to move out in the Kururu Robo to bring her in, resulting in all the unexplained phenomena from the first act. |
45 | 12 February 2005 | Keroro, Sudden Love for Dango / Natsumi and Momoka, Valentine Operation Initiated | It's the day before Valentine's day, and Keroro, inspired by the sales of chocolate on this occasion, plans on cashing in by manufacturing and selling traditional ikinari dango or sweet potato snacks, as a substitute for traditional Valentine's Day chocolate. Unfortunately, all the marketing and promotional power of the Keroro platoon fail to overturn international tradition, and Keroro is left with stacks and stacks of ikinari dango that will haunt him for many episodes to come.
Valentine's Day arrives at last, and whether it be chocolate handmade from store-bought ingredients or coca flown from Ghana by the Nishizawa Peach Group, Natsumi and Momoka are on a sacred mission to give their chocolates to the men in their lives (Saburo and Fuyuki respectively), but each has her own obstacles to overcome - Natsumi's own nerves get the better of her at each turn, and Momoka watches helpless as Fuyuki receives Valentine's Day chocolate from other girls (Fuyuki himself has a different sort of problem, in the form of the combined jealousy of the menfolk of Kisshou Gakuen.) |
46 | 19 February 2005 | Keroro, Do Not Tell Me You Have Forgotten? | Spooky happenings take place in the Hinata household, and Natsumi is first to point fingers at Keroro - but Keroro's air-tight alibi leaves everyone puzzled. This somehow leads to bigger unexplained manifestations, and finding the logical explanations for them leads to one final manifestation, as the Hinata house ghost is sick and tired of everyone forgetting her existence by simply explaining it away.
A ghost with a grievance is a powerful thing indeed, as the house ghost spirits Natsumi and Keroro away, and her long and painful history is revealed at last - as a child, she found a kappa (an amphibious Japanese demon), befriended it, and was deemed a heretic and locked in a vault by her fellow villagers for it... |
47 | 26 February 2005 | Natsumi, Protect Hinamatsuri / Keroro Becomes Afro | The story begins with Natsumi inviting Koyuki to spend Hinamatsuri, the Japanese Girls' Festival, at the Hinata household. Keroro intervenes once again, hoping to 'spice up' the traditional festival in his own way, and Kururu unveils his newest invention - Kururuko, a magical girl style Pekopon suit, its perfect human likeness spoiled by Kururu's attempt at a girly voice from inside it. Kururuko then proceeds to send the humans into a holographic realm, introducing them to Hinamatsuri, Outer Space style.
Debuting in this episode is Dance Man, the white-suited afro-coifed singer of the Afro Gunso closing theme... and Dasonu Maso, his alien bootleg version. The story begins when Keroro tricks Natsumi with what appears to be a Dance Man concert ticket, but ripping off the counterfoil summons Dasonu Maso from deep space, and Natsumi is subjected to the truths of Dasonu Maso as well as the threat of her very own afro.... |
48 | 5 March 2005 | Keroro Platoon, Spring's U-La-La Battle / Fuyuki No-No Hazzard Rescue Mission | Springtime rolls in at last, and a form of seasonal laziness begins to affect all people - which inspires Keroro's latest scheme, to channel the energies of the world's laziest lifeforms and use it against the people of Earth. Kururu creates a reactor chamber to house this 'Keron March Energy', and a successful test with 556 as the subject is run, but things go horribly wrong when Kururu opens the reactor to let out 556... and all the Keron March Energy at the same time...
Keron March Energy spreads rapidly throughout the city, and it's up to Fuyuki, protected from the ominous fog by his diving suit from episode 20, to put a stop to this. Making his way through the underground base, Fuyuki uncovers one cryptic clue after another, and finally locates Keroro - trapped by the now self-aware Keron March Energy (bearing a strange resemblance to Ayanami Rei of Neon Genesis Evangelion), which threatens to bring about the end of the world with March Impact. |
49 | '12 March 2005 | Kururu, The Best Method in Space / Momoka, White Top Operation | Kururu passes on to his platoonmates his new 'life policy' - do something you don't normally do. After seeing Natsumi and Fuyuki react to Kururu's revised behavior with gratitude, the other Keronians take to this new attitude with great zeal - Keroro in particular gets the wrong idea and winds up doing a lot of needless and ultimately annoying things. Even his personal attempt at triggering the Pekopon Invasion goes awry when his congenital ineptitude gets the better of him.
March 14 is White Day, the day that boys who received Valentine's Day chocolates (re. ep 45) get to give something back, and Momoka gets a box of cookies from Fuyuki, which she proceeds to display in her private vault (the cookies that is). However Momoka is looking forward to something more - the perfect date with Fuyuki. Paul enlists the Nishizawa Peach Group's vast resources to create the Super Version Simulator, a virtual reality chamber to determine every possible outcome of Momoka's date with Fuyuki, taking into account every possible situation, down to possible interference from practically every other character in the show... save for one... |
50 | 19 March 2005 | Natsumi, Warrior of Earth with a Fever / Giroro, If I Don't Do It, Then Who Will? | After doing some digging around in his tent, Giroro comes across a DVD of the Keroro Platoon's press conference before they left for Earth. While watching, he realizes just how far the Keroro Platoon has fallen from their original duties. The Keroro Platoon decides to go back to its old ways and take over the Hinata house. But how can they get past Natsumi Hinata, the demonlord of the house? Or will a serious fever take her down for them?
An irregular fever causes Natsumi to go bedridden, with the Platoon fearing for her life. Giroro's love for Natsumi gets the best of him once more as he battles with a Space Cerberus. |
51 | 26 March 2005 | Keroro Platoon Retreats! Good-bye, Pekopon | Keroro was asked by the conductor for them to go back to Keron. Kururu then erases all the humans' memories. What will become of them? |
Season 2
The second season aired from April 2005 to March 2006.
Episode | Airdate | Title | Synopsis |
---|---|---|---|
52 | 1 April 2005 | Keroro, Standing on Earth Once Again! / Tamama, Black Tamama | The new season of Keroro Gunso kicks off with a bang - a somewhat familiar bang, since the Keroro Platoon is starting the Pekopon invasion once again. After successfully infiltrating Fuyuki's room and taking back the Kero Ball, Keroro attempts to trigger the Pekopon invasion on his own - and fails, of course, but for some reason three of his platoonmates aren't here to share in his defeat....
When Fuyuki receives a dubious phone call from Momoka, he rushes to her aid, and finds out that Tamama, thought to be MIA all this time, has carried out his own Pekopon invasion by destroying the mansion and taking Momoka hostage. Only after Keroro busts out the Keroro Robo for the first time and butts in is the entire scene revealed to be yet another plan for Momoka to get closer to Fuyuki. |
53 | 8 April 2005 | Keroro, Plan to Invade the Treasures / Angol Mois, More More Flower-Seeing | For his latest scheme, Keroro convinces Fuyuki to follow him on a trip to assorted wonders of the world - Stonehenge, Easter Island and the city of MachuPicchu in Peru, to name a few. The general consensus is that these unexplained structures were built by aliens centuries ago, and Keroro hopes to find some useful technology to aid the invasion, but their exact purpose and function is something no scientist or researcher (human or Keronian) has ever come close to... until now. It's a revelation that will change the way we see our very world.
It's time for Hanami, the traditional flower-viewing festival - but Angol Mois lands in the Hinata backyard and gets to work destroying the Earth, causing all the cherry blossoms to fall off the trees. Tamama takes the opportunity to hammer as much guilt on Mois as possible, but Mois takes it all in stride, even promising to make the sakura bloom again - but will this task prove to be beyond the ability of the resident Destroyer of Worlds? |
54 | 15 April 2005 | Fuyuki, I am a Famous Investigator? / Dororo, the Revived Soldier | Fuyuki's little-known investigative talents get showcased in this episode. Keroro gets inspired to start his own private detective agency, and the first thing he does is recruit Space Detective 556 - but winds up with his first case instead, as 556 is found laying motionless in his own apartment, with no signs of forced entry.
Dororo, who's supposedly gone MIA all this time, has in fact been secretly honing his ninja skills. At the same time, the Hinata family and Keroro platoon make their yearly visit to Grandmother Hinata in the coutryside, where Grandmother Hinata relates to the children some rumors of a demon moving through the forests, which just happen to be Dororo's training grounds. |
55 | 22 April 2005 | Giroro, the Resurrected Soldier / Fuyuki, Swimming Carp Flags! | The one remaining Keroro platoon member, Giroro, has chosen to carry out a self-declared invasion rather than return to the unit. Under cover of night, he fires specially-designed rounds that spread assorted galactic plantlife all over Inner Tokyo. Keroro and company chicken out immediately, forcing Natsumi to act on her own - but will she be able to handle both Giroro in full Apocalypse Now form and a city full of carnivorous greenery?
We are introduced this week to another Japanese tradition - much like Hinamatsuri for girls (re. ep 47), boys get to display their collection of carp-shaped windsocks. Grandmother Hinata sends a box of Fuyuki's own carp flags and toy samurai helmet to his home, and while the Keronians and Mois take an interest in these traditional items (Kururu even uses his newest invention, the Nanola nanobot 'soft drink' to turn the carp flags into high-tech flying scooters), Fuyuki laments that he's past the age for them - which inspires Keroro to bust out Kururu's age manipulation ray and address said lament in a very direct manner. What they don't realise is that Fuyuki as a child was in fact a hyperactive brat, who rallies the Keronians and leads them on his own self-declared Pekopon invasion. |
56 | 29 April 2005 | Natsumi and Koyuki, Princess of Tennis / Keroro, Hope the Weather Clears Up For the Invasion | Koyuki makes her long-awaited return this week. All pumped up from watching an old sports drama movie, Koyuki seeks out Natsumi for a duel of honor, right in the middle of Natsumi's tennis practice - which prompts Keroro to suggest a duel on the tennis court. Using Keronian technology, he subjects Natsumi to potentially fatal levels of training, but will it be enough against Koyuki's ninja-style tennis moves? Or will the unwanted intervention of a certain afro-wearing space intruder ruin it for everyone?
May rolls around, and we are introduced to the natural occurrence of swallows' nests sprouting in odd locations for their egg-laying season. Keroro takes an instant dislike to the swallows and their nests... a simple case of jealousy at first, which slowly grows into full-blown paranoia, as Keroro starts seeing more and more swallows' nests, on people's heads? |
57 | 6 May 2005 | Dororo, An Innate Rebel / Huge Frog Against The Freak Of the Southern Seas | After being rudely interrupted at the end of episode 54, it's finally Dororo's turn in the spotlight - and just in time, as the elder brother of the Viper who was defeated in episode 13 is out for revenge. The more intelligent Cool Big Brother Viper's divide-and-conquer strategy gets the better of the Keroro platoon, culminating in a dastardly plan to flip Dororo's trauma switch, but Koyuki's timely intervention places Dororo back on track, and when Cool Big Brother Viper turns into a giant, Kururu busts out the Flash Spoon from episode 30, giving Keroro a chance to save the day.
Using the Flash Spoon causes Keroro to be stuck as a giant, and the Keronians are forced to bring him to Momoka's offshore island resort to prevent any chaos in the city. While enjoying the huge advantages that come with his size, Keroro soon begins to lament it, until his platoonmates convince him to use his current state to aid the Pekopon invasion. Things go predictably wrong when the Flash Spoon winds up in the wrong hands... and tentacles... and crab claws and so on... |
58 | 13 May 2005 | Dororo, Invade the Vending Machine / Tamama Awakens! Secret Technique | Keroro's latest scheme involves using soft drink vending machines to invade Earth, and Kururu suggests spiking the drinks with Keron March Energy (re. ep 48). When Dororo and Mois object to this idea, Keroro takes it in a completely different direction - each platoon member develops a unique flavor based off his/her experiences and preferences, resulting in six unique and exceptional drinks that become immensely popular. Unfortunately things go wrong yet again when Keroro, drunk with success, develops a twisted new vision for his soft drink franchise, reflected in the Mk II vending machine that gives new meaning to the term 'hard sell'.
Tamama may be the Keroro platoon's resident martial arts master, but Momoka's butler Paul Moriyama, a notorious street fighter in his prime, proves to be more than a match for him every time. When Tamama runs crying to Keroro, he agrees to help out the young warrior... by conning him into doing all the chores. Finally, Keroro leaving Tamama to have tea with Mois proves to be the straw that breaks the Keronian's back, as all of Tamama's pent-up jealousy is pushed well over the edge - and straight into his most deadly martial arts move to date. |
59 | 20 May 2005 | Keroro, The Cultivated Castle! / Keroro's Moving Castle! | Fuyuki's samurai helmet (re. ep 55) inspires Keroro to create his own castle fortress, by building a plastic fortress model and soaking it in Kururu's Nanola (also from ep. 55). Nothing actually happens to it, until Kururu reveals that the castle must 'consume' whatever items they can feed it with, starting with Keroro's beloved Gunpla, to grow in size. When feeding the castle with whatever Keroro can find around the house incurs Natsumi's wrath, Dororo suggests that they use the castle to get rid of illegally dumped garbage; the resulting deluge of items causes the little model castle to grow at an alarming rate, but a bigger surprise awaits the Keroro platoon as the castle develops self-awareness - and self-propulsion.
It's Howl's Moving Castle, Keroro style. Reports of whole buildings being consumed in the night start pouring in from all around the city, as the rogue building, driven by a vengeful spirit from the Warring States era, slowly makes its way to Kyoto, Japan's capital city from that period. Keroro refuses to act or even take responibility for the incident - until it is revealed that Bandai's primary Gunpla factory is right in the castle's path. With a little help from the Hinata house ghost, the Keroro platoon moves out in full force - which may not be enough, as the moving castle holds a few surprises of its own! |
60 | 27 May 2005 | Keroro, Keroro Machine Race / Mois, Hope That the Sleeping Princess Rests? | The day starts with Natsumi discovering a tiny vacuum cleaner and a slice of cake racing around her bedroom floor, and a mini racetrack that weaves in and out of the entire Hinata house. Along with the shrink-ray from the Caries War (re. episode 10), Kururu has developed the Bumper Car Gun, which turns ordinary household objects into mini racing vehicles, and Keroro challenges Natsumi to a race - one complicated by Kururu's randomly-placed powerups and traps. Eventually, Keroro's attempt at cheating result in his arrest by Space Policewoman Poyon - for breaking the laws of physics?
Working at the secret base one night after another takes its toll on Angol Mois, who falls asleep at the console; unlike her 500-year nap in orbit though, she wakes up a mere three days later, but not completely, as the resident Destroyer of Worlds exhibits what might be the most unique case of sleepwalking in history. |
61 | 3 June 2005 | Fuyuki, What Happened To the Mysterious Transfer Student? / Natsumi and Saburo, The Two Who Are Unable To Return | This week, we meet the mysterious transfer student Kinoshita Rei. Nothing is known about her, save that she is an incredible magnet for bad luck. At the same time, Keroro almost throws out Fuyuki's very first O-PArt (Out-of-Place Artifact), but keeps it for himself after he identifies it as an alien good luck charm. All is revealed when Keroro also identifies Rei as an Atarunian, an incredibly unlucky alien race who carry these good luck charms to preserve their own lives.
Saburo pays a surprise visit to the Hinata household, asking Kururu to fix up his pen, and Natsumi is understandably excited at this - as luck would have it, they both get lost and meet each other in the secret base. While finding a way out together, they enter Keroro's Gunpla display hall and trigger a boobytrap that places them inside a rocket ready for launch into outer space. |
62 | 10 June 2005 | Momoka, Natsumi and Mois, Phantom Thief MorePeachSummer / Keroro, Victory! Battle In the Waters | When Nishizawa Bayo receives a threat from a group of professional cat burglars known only as More-Peach-Summer, he immediately enlists the help of Fuyuki in cracking this case. Fuyuki in turn enists the Keroro platoon's assistance. The target of these heinous criminals is a valuable painting, commissioned by Mr Nishizawa as a present to his daughter Momoka, and the near impenetrable security of Momoka's mansion, along with the Keroro platoon, are all that stand between them and their prize, but one great mystery remains - why is Momoka leading Natsumi and Angol Mois to break into her own mansion?
Summer rolls around yet again, and just as Fuyuki laments the school swimming session (re. episode 17), he and Natsumi find the Hinata house filled with water from roof to basement - Keroro explains that it is in fact breathable water from an amphibious planet, and Fuyuki gets the rare chance to learn how to swim without the possibility of drowning. Unfortunately the intense humidity of breathable water reawakens Keroro From Back Then, forcing Kururu to take drastic measures... |
63 | 17 June 2005 | Keroro, Story Of Teacher Keroro! / Keroro, Reunion With Father | In order to complete and submit a report on young human behavior to Keron high command, Keroro must disguise himself as a human teacher and infiltrate Fuyuki's school. Kururu creates the Acceptance Chalk, which emits scratches and squeaks tuned precisely to affect human minds hypnotically, and goes the extra mile to keep Fuyuki's homeroom teacher occupied while substitute teacher 'Kerono Keropachi' quickly gains the students' acceptance and respect - except for Fuyuki, Momoka, and Chiruyo Tsukigami of the school news club (re. episode 29). With Giroro and Tamama also deep undercover as delinquent students, Keroro may actually succeed... but his improvised curriculum, filled with irrelevant subjects, and Chiruyo's overly suspicious nature threaten his mission...
After his visit in episode 27 had to be called off, Keroro's father finally shows up at the Hinata doorstep, completely unannounced - and with good reason, as the galactically feared Demon Sergeant has picked a bride for his son. Keronian marriage is in fact a sacred coming-of-age ceremony, and Keroro faces the possibility of being separated from his beloved Gunpla. Desperation forces Keroro to name Natsumi as his spouse, and what follows can only be described as the new greatest coverup in history.... |
64 | 24 June 2005 | Keroro, If You Want To Suck, Suck! Give Up On Lying / Dororo, Escape From Trauma | Summer rains escalate into a veritable monsoon season, posing a problem for the Hinata household as damp laundry begins to accumulate - Keroro hoards the damp laundry in his room, and the rising humidity brings back the threat of a Nyororo from space. Kururu develops the Kirara-chan, an alien clothes dryer powered by a living Nyororo imprisoned inside it. Problems arise when Keroro decides to mass-produce the Kirara-chan, and the colony of genetically-modified fast-growing Nyororo bred for this venture go out of control, and overrun the underground base.
The previous incident flips Dororo's trauma switch, and it stays flipped into the second half, prompting the Keroro platoon to take action. Kururu brings out his most incredible invention to date, the Soul Diver, able to transport Keroro, Tamama and Giroro into Dororo's mind for the purpose of manipulating his memories. Unexpected opposition comes in the form of the traume parasite Tiger-horse or ToraUma [a pun on the word trauma], a cross between a tiger, a horse and Sadako from The Ring, a literal inner demon that will not sleep, and will not be stopped. |
65 | 1 July 2005 | Keroro, Bark At Pekopon / Tamama, A Visitor From Keron Planet | When Keroro's favourite anime is interrupted due to a faulty transmission, Kururu busts out a galactic antenna for the TV, which proves to be so powerful that the Keroro platoon wind up listening in on Galactic Police radio broadcasts. Thus the Keronians are alerted to the threat of an escaped alien criminal known only as #303, and Keroro reorganises his platoon, and involuntary member Fuyuki, into the Seventh District Investigative Division to track down and bring down this menace - and just in time, as a string of inexplicable food thefts begin to sweep through the city. Things take a mysterious turn as Fuyuki's normally flawless investigative skill deduce the culprit to be Keroro himself...
We are introduced this week to Tanabata, a festival derived from the Japanese legend of the celestial star-crossed lovers allowed to meet only one night a year, when people write their dearest wishes on sheets of paper and hang them up. Debuting this week is Karara, juvenile Keronian and self-declared new conscript of the Keroro platoon. Tamama takes an instant dislike to Karara, but winds up saddled with the role of mentor to this new conscript - whose curiosity and short attention span throw the secret base into chaos. Kururu's seldom-seen temper rears its ugly head as he devises the most hideous fate possible for Karara, and a conscience-stricken Tamama leaps in to save his protege... who turns out to be a girl... and in love with Tamama for saving her. |
66 | 8 July 2005 | Giroro, Swimsuit Rescue Mission / Natsumi & Koyuki, Heart-Beating First Date | As part of a deal made by Keroro before the Pekopon Invasion, an Events Alien kidnaps Natsumi and Fuyuki, warping them immediately to his space station as it orbits the Earth. The Keroro Platoon immediately launch a rescue mission, easily entering the space station - which turns out to be a television station, complete with studios, costumes, props, and an alien version of voice actor Kumiko Watanabe.
When Natsumi announces that she is going on a date, an insanely jealous Giroro follows her in secret, leading Keroro and Tamama to follow him as well, on the pretext of observing typical dating behavior. Natsumi's date turns out to be Koyuki, whose ninja upbringing leads her to display some very atypical behavior indeed... |
67 | 15 July 2005 | Fuyuki & Momoka, Secret Of the Mysterious Date / Keroro, Let's Create A Game | We are introduced to the Japanese cultural phenomenon of Seven School Mysteries this week. When Fuyuki announces a field trip for the school Occult Club to a disused schoolhouse, Momoka is only too eager to follow along. What they don't realise is that Keroro's latest scheme involves turning the old schoolhouse into a tourist spot, complete with Keronian technology-driven ghostly FX and his own troops dressed up as popular phantasms, and Fuyuki and Momoka are about to become involuntary Keroro hatches yet another scheme, this time involving the creation of a hit video game. Kururu brings out the Idea-Materialising Monitor (Floorboard version), which renders people's thoughts as full-color 3D holograms, and one game idea after another is developed - and rejected by Keroro, resulting in everyone leaving the project. Dororo manages to talk Keroro into apologising to his game staff and restarting the project, which successfully reaches the beta testing stage - and the real chaos begins, as the game turns out to be a little TOO interactive... |
68 | 22 July 2005 | Keroro, Huge Transformation! A Massive Remodeling / Dororo, Destiny Showdown | Summer vacation time rolls around at last. Watching a Japanese version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition gives Keroro the idea of remodelling the Hinata household - with a lot of needless, excessive and ultimately annoying features, like extra hallways, a kitchen coliseum straight out of Iron Chef, and a living room so huge that the TV is barely visible from the couch.
Rumors of an intelligent dog prowling the city reach the ears of the Keroro platoon. Keroro immediately hatches a scheme to catch this beast for his own purposes, while Dororo already knows who it is - his fellow ninja Zeroyasha, a ninja-trained wolfhound seeking him out for... a game of fetch? |
69 | 29 July 2005 | Natsumi and Fuyuki, Spirited Away / Keroro, Midsummer Comedic Battle | It's Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away, Keroro style. The Hinata family discovers a tunnel leading to a massive onsen resort & bathhouse - which turns out to be Keroro's latest moneymaking scheme. Instead of ghosts in all shapes and sizes, aliens in all shapes and sizes patronise this establishment, including 3M and R Grey, Space Kumiko Watanabe and a massive sludge being with bicycle handlebars lodged in its head. Things go predictably wrong when a Banana Slug egg gets shipped into the resort, and the rising temperatures of the hot baths begin to incubate it...
It's time again for the annual family trip to Doinaka Beach (re. ep 18), which has become more popular with the tourists in recent months. Also of note is that Aki has come along for the trip, and Keroro isn't quite as interested in the knockoff 'Zeta Dangale' model kits offered as prizes for the Swimsuit Beauty Standup Comedy Competition - but he changes his mind upon learning that the competition will be on national television. At the same time, Natsumi gets dragged back into the competition by Koyuki, but Keroro has a secret weapon on his side - one involving Giroro and a whacking sick. |
70 | 5 August 2005 | Keron vs. Pekopon, Full Showdown!? / Koyuki, Dokki-Dokki First Riceball | Kururu develops a battle simulation program to enact an actual Pekopon invasion, which Keroro hopes to use to falsify some invasion data to appease Keron High Command. Things go awry when the simulation takes into account any possible resistance, even roping in Natsumi as a planet-defending superhero, powers and all; and Keroro's attempts to improve his invasion attacks only cause the simulation to 'recruit' more superheroes to fend him off.
Koyuki and Natsumi are going out for a picnic and they are making riceballs for each other - but Koyuki has no idea how to do it and winds up creating something that not only looks like a cannonball, but is just as heavy. Upon seeing what Natsumi's riceballs look like, she claims that her creation is really a ninja weapon, but winds up dropping it down a hole - where a race of mouse-like aliens take this intrusion to be an act of war. It's up to the Keroro platoon to face these captors - in the sumo wrestling ring. |
71 | 12 August 2005 | Wicked! Bewitched! Legend of the King who Forgets to Do His Homework | Keron High Command's request for Keroro to turn in the results of the Pekopon Invasion has the sergeant at his wits' end. Kururu develops his most amazing invention yet - the RA-01 aerial probe that warps large amounts of rocks, dirt, water and assorted garbage into a single point in the stratosphere. The mission: to create a new planet.
When the new planet is finally revealed, Fuyuki and Natsumi get to be the first humans to set foot on it. With clean white beaches and unpolluted oceans, the planet turns into a holiday resort of sorts, but also draws the attention of Space Policewoman Poyon - but a far bigger crisis looms on the horizon as the RA-01 probe goes out of control. Not only is the new planet growing at an alarming rate, but feeding on matter constantly warped from Earth below means that Earth itself will die out... |
72 | 19 August 2005 | Keroro, Ironman Chef Challenge / Tamama, Strongest Soldier Challenge | It's time for Iron Chef, Keroro style. The day starts with the Keronian secret base being invaded by Minemine and Gumogumo, two aliens claiming to be the greatest chefs in the galaxy. They challenge Keroro to a duel of culinary skill, whereupon Keroro immediately drags in the Hinata children and Koyuki to help out - resulting in the return of Koyuki's Ninja Riceball from episode 70 and other such hijinks.
The Hinata household is literally crawling with insects, as word of Tamama's duel with the Rhinoceros Beetle (re. episode 21) spreads far and wide. This time round, the insanely powerful Hercules Beetle is seeking out Tamama for a duel, to decide who is the strongest in the galaxy. Can Tamama Impact possibly beat Hercules Omega Hurricane? |
73 | 26 August 2005 | Fuyuki 198x, Our Summer Vacation | Directly following up on last week's episode, the Keroro platoon is out catching beetles for sale. Kururu's age manipulation ray is being used on trees this time, aging them into beetle season to raise the haul. Just as Fuyuki passes by, a freak thunderstorm starts up, and one bolt of lightning hits the age manipulation ray, ubercharging it and creating a time machine effect, sending our heroes 20 years into the past. While the Keroro platoon carries out investigations, Keroro decides to take in some '80s culture, while Fuyuki meets the one familiar face in this time - Hinata Aki.
As the threat of the Keronians being discovered looms over their heads (their antibarrier is set so that Aki can see them no matter how old she is) Fuyuki's investigative skill unravels the mystery - ubercharging the age manipulation ray did not send himself and the Keroro platoon into the past, but instead de-aged the world by 20 years. The only way to reverse the effect is by ubercharging it again, and the only way to create that much energy is via a literal deus ex machina - Angol Mois. |
74 | 2 September 2005 | Surprising - Keroro Special Version, gero gero 30 minutes, 15 stories | 15 random hijinks revolving around the platoon and their friends. Some stories include breaking the world record, teaching Mois proper idioms, fake anime release, ESP ring, Viper wedding and the old fairytale of starting with grass and trading oneself to wealth. |
75 | 9 September 2005 | Momoka Awakes! Third Momoka | Due to a freak accident, Momoka gets blasted by a ray that infuses her with her father's ruthless, businesslike personality. She promptly begins to take over the Keroro Platoon and attempt her own take-over of Earth. It's up to Fuyuki to stop her, but can he bring himself to hurt her? |
76 | 16 September 2005 | Keroro Platoon, Please Take Me To the Moon | The middle of autumn is marked by the fullest moon of the year - which draws a different sort of attention this year, as tours to a Lunar Resort are heavily advertised on the Internet. The truth of the matter is that the Keroro platoon haven't built the Lunar Resort just yet, and upon being exposed by Natsumi, Keroro tries to appease her with a trip to the moon - with the true intention of keeping her distracted while construction gets underway. Upon landing on the moon though, Natsumi and Giroro are separated from the others after falling into a crevasse, and Keroro discovers another alien structure already present...
The legend of Kaguyahime the Moon Princess gets the Keroro Gunso treatment. It turns out the alien structure is really an escape pod commanded by an alien princess, who sends her rabbit-droid bodyguards to Earth to find five special materials to repair the vessel. Unfortunately one rabbit-droid was shot down in space after locating the fifth element, and the princess has been trapped on the moon ever since. At the same time, Natsumi and Giroro try to make their way back to the others, when Giroro discovers a crashed spaceship that happens to have a deactivated rabbit-droid in it... |
77 | 23 September 2005 | Tamama, Am I Really Getting Married? / Tamama, Sealing Tamama Impact | It's a double dose of returning Keronians as Taruru (re. episode 30) and Karara (fresh from episode 65) both crashland on Earth. Making good on her promise, Karara is ready to marry Tamama, who tries to get rid of her any way he can - not only do all his efforts go to waste, but everyone else 'encourages' their relationship while offering no 'help' whatsoever. Just as Tamama reaches his wits' end, a gigantic Keronian mecha lands on Giroro's tent, as Karara's father Dobaba attempts to take his daughter back personally. Tamama finally relents and starts defending Karara... but his ineffective attacks on the mecha, and Kururu's intervention with a beam cannon that takes it down, cause Karara to fall in love with Kururu instead.
Still seething over his defeat in the first half, Tamama decides to avoid using his Tamama Impact altogether, even going to the extent of giving Keroro and Mois lots of opportunities to be together while he seethes in a corner. The adverse effects are made manifest as all the pent-up rage and jealouy cause Tamama to swell and grow into a giant, and Kururu calculates that Tamama may explode as a result... |
78 | 30 September 2005 | Keroro, Treasure Hunting Should be Carried out on a Treasure Island | An impostor posing as Keroro not only pins the theft of a ring on the real Keroro, but cons Fuyuki into unlocking the mysterious puzzle inside it. When Space Policewoman Poyon tried to arrest Keroro, she fires a stray shot into Keroro's fridge portal. At the same time, Fuyuki is saved from the imposter, Distant Relative Viper, thanks to a new character, Galactic Interpol Agent Jessica Harpie, who reveals that the puzzle leads to buried treasure. Keroro instantly takes an interest, and the treasure hunt brings our heroes all the way to the Nazca lines in Peru, where they find a map of the Bermuda Triangle - where Viper is already lying in ambush. The attack sends Fuyuki and Jessica hurtling into the Bermuda Triangle...
Fuyuki and Jessica find themselves in a massive wasteland covered in wrecked planes and ships, all victims of the Bermuda Triangle. Fortunately, Poyon's stray shot at the fridge portal causes it to open in this dimension, and Fuyuki and Jessica have to take the long way back to the Bermuda Triangle, where the Keroro Platoon is now prisoner to Viper and his crew. Fuyuki and Jessica rescue the Keronians and they make their way to the treasure island... and find the treasure in the public restroom... |
79 | 7 October 2005 | Fuyuki, Do Not Give Up For the Sports Meet / Giroro, I Know What A Cat Is | Fuyuki unwittingly volunteers to participate in the sports festival race. Lacking willpower and confidence, he goes to Giroro for harsh training. Will Fuyuki gain the courage he needs to win the race?
After losing a picture of Natsumi, Giroro enters a state of depression. Giroro's cat friend goes through many obstacles to get another photo for Giroro, even if it means turning human in the process. Will the cat be successful in getting a new photo of Natsumi for Giroro? |
80 | 14 October 2005 | Keroro, Oh My, Running Away From Home is So Lonely | After getting into a fight with Natsumi, Keroro runs away from the Hinata residence and takes shelter in an abandoned room. At first he enjoys living on his own building a gunpla, reading a manga and playing a handheld video game, but then he starts to become bored and lonely. Will Keroro put his selfishness aside and return to the Hinata residence? |
81 | 21 October 2005 | Giroro, Red-faced Days Full of Willpower / Fight, Koyuki! To Protect Your Loved Ones | After a freak experiment, Giroro ends up being merged with Natsumi's right hand. To make matters worse, Natsumi ends up having to play a softball game with her rival, Imogo Rie, in PE class. Can Giroro and Natsumi work together to win?
Koyuki's ninja skills and friendship with Natsumi are put to the test when she goes up against a space ninja named Sylbie. Can Koyuki win? |
82 | 28 October 2005 | 623 (Mutsumi), Want to be on My Radio? / Keroro vs. Natsumi, 1/6 Model Battle! | DJ 623 announces a special event: he's holding auditions for a co-presenter on his radio show. Natsumi is understandably excited at the possibility of seeing 623 in person, heading for the radio station with Yayoi and Satsuki in tow, while Keroro sees a different kind of opportunity, roping in Tamama, Giroro and Angol Mois to audition as well. Unfortunately 623 chooses to hide in his studio and broadcast to the hopefuls through a radio, in true Charlie's Angels fashion. While Natsumi's athletic prowess and Keroro's little-known talent for storytelling make them the hot favourites to win, one last obstacle appears in the form of a last-minute entry - Kururuko.
When Natsumi confiscates Keroro's newest Gunpla, Keroro immediately plots his revenge, and Kururu creates the 'Let Angels Draw Out My Desires' machine, which in turn creates a plastic model of Keroro (which bears a very close resemblance to Bandai's official KeroPla.) With fully-functional weapons and rocket propulsion, the small KeroPla turns into a very big problem indeed for Natsumi, who attempts to track down the real Keroro, but winds up finding Kururu's machine instead. An accident causes the machine to activate with Natsumi inside it, and a Natsumi model is created - levelling the playing field for one final confrontation. In the end, Natsumi chooses to return Keroro's Gunpla, when the process of building her own Natsumi model lets her relate to Keroro in a way she hadn't really expected. |
83 | 4 November 2005 | Keroro, Mixed Hot Springs Murder Incident. The Spirit Of the Most Unfortunate Sibling in Space. Because of Brother's Colored Box Hot Spring, Only One Foot Can Be Placed Inside. When the Brother Slipped From the Shock and Fell Unconscious, the Sister's Tears Fell like Flower Petals / Kururu, The Most Dislikeable Guy | Momoka invites Fuyuki to her personal onsen resort, which predictably results in the Hinata family and the Keroro platoon tagging along. Unlike previous occasions though, 556 and Lavie are here too, working as resort staff - oddly enough, none of 556's shenanigans are enough to prepare our heroes for the real surprise, when 556 is found unconscious on the floor with one foot inside one of his colored boxes (rather like the mystery of episode 54)...
An explosion in Kururu's lab draws the Hinata children and the Keroro platoon downstairs, where they find the age manipulation beam gun irreparably broken, and its victim, an infant Kururu. While the four remaining Keronians search Kururu's extensive database for a solution, Fuyuki and Natsumi learn to their dismay that infant Kururu is even harder to live with than normal Kururu. When Angol Mois finds herself drawn to infant Kururu, he realises the inherent danger of Mois bringing him up the right way, and hastily fixes up the age manipulation ray to turn himself back to 'normal'. |
84 | 11 November 2005 | Momoka, Want to Eat Lunch in Space? / Keroro, Protect the Mushrooms! | Momoka works overnight to create the perfect bento, or boxed lunch, for a picnic with Fuyuki - but she can't think of a good enough location for said picnic, until she overhears Fuyuki's enthusiasm over a new comet spotted in space. Thus begins Momoka's latest plan, as she and Fuyuki climb inside her personal space shuttle and launch into space to view the comet up close - but a huge surprise awaits them, as the 'comet' turns out to be a spaceship piloted by Keroro and Tamama. Their intrusion combined with Fuyuki's disappointment threaten Momoka's plan, and her rapidly rising temper causes her to damage one of the portholes, shattering it and decompressing the space shuttle while sucking her and Fuyuki into deep space...
Keroro walks in on a discussion about matsutake, an edible mushroom regarded as a delicacy, which inspires Keroro's latest scheme, to gather these rare mushrooms and sell for profit. Having only experienced conflicts with predatory alien mushrooms before this, the Keroro platoon enters the forest armed to the teeth; Kururu does his part by deploying traps throughout the forest, while Giroro, who heads into the forest fully-armed, walks into every single one of them - and sends his platoonmates on a wild goose chase. |
85 | 18 November 2005 | Keroro, Substitution Of Shirts / Natsumi Turns Into A Magical Girl | The classic Freaky Friday plot device comes to Keroro Gunso. Kururu creates an ordinary-looking gashapon machine that swaps Keroro and Natsumi's bodies around. Before he can carry out the rest of his scheme, Keroro-as-Natsumi is promptly whisked off to school by Yayoi and Satsuki to fulfill one school commitment after another, while Natsumi-as-Keroro realises that doing household chores when you're a two-foot-tall alien is a lot harder that it looks.
It's Galactic Recycling Day, and the Keroro platoon brings out a lot of unused machinery for the alien trash collectors - including some toy wands that were being handed out as freebies. Ironically, these toys are powered by alien technology like anti-gravity and solid-state holograms, and the Hinata children, along with Keroro, Tamama, Giroro (against his will) and Momoka, have a rare chance to become magical heroes of their very own - proving once and for all that sufficiently complicated technology is indistinguishable from magic. |
86 | 25 November 2005 | Natsumi & Fuyuki Stay With the Devilish Hinata Family / Keroro Turns Into Super Hero! | Spooky happenings plague the Hinata household - unlike episode 46 though, neither Keroro nor the Hinata house ghost have an explanation. Things start getting worse as the house itself starts shaking and all the exits are locked, and the kitchen begins to inexplicably prepare dinner on its own. Eventually, Kururu reveals that he has been testing an improved formula for his Nanola, adding an AI program into the items being upgraded - almost as if the house has achieved a level of sentience.
On a request from an Events Alien producer, Keroro decides to produce his own tokusatsu costumed superhero show, but the Hinata children and his own platoonmates refuse to go along with it. Keroro literally forces them into his new machine, which scans his script, rendering it as virtual reality, and projects their minds into it. Able to manipulate this reality in real time thanks to the script in his hands, Keroro turns his platoonmates into a superhero team of his own design, and the Hinata children and Koyuki into their adversaries. |
87 | 2 December 2005 | Keroro, Best Wishes! Happy Birthday / Mois, Mois In Wonderland | Natsumi's birthday rolls around again, with Keroro's birthday the following week (re. episode 35). Like most children awaiting Christmas, Keroro is on his very best behavior this week, like cleaning the floor till it sparkles and treating his platoonmates to drinks and snacks, but for some reason his incredibly transparent behavior fails to tip off anyone to his intentions, as nobody takes notice at all... even on the day itself.
Earth as we know it may come to an end, as a quartet of faceless aliens known as the Juulijin (from the word 'jury') have destroyed one world they have judged unfit for existence after another, with Earth their next target. One of the four raises the fact that a Destroyer of Worlds, Angol Mois, has taken residence here, prompting a formal investigation - and the Juulijin are treated to Mois' unblemished and unique view of the world around her and the people she knows. |
88 | 9 December 2005 | Dason? Maso Pekopon Received! | Winter arrives as the first snowflakes begin to fall, but for some reason Fuyuki finds a falling ticket instead - a Dasonu*Maso 'concert' ticket, to be precise. For once Dasonu*Maso has a scheme of his own - thousands of tickets have been scattered across the city, and ripping the counterfoils summons an army of Mecha Dasonu*Maso (robotic copies armed with Dasonu*Maso's afro beam) that harass the civilians with their truths and afros. Not even the military might of the Nishizawa Peach Group can fend off the funkiest Pekopon Invasion in galactic history, and Paul is forced to place Momoka in an escape pod to save her as he fends them off.
Koyuki and Dororo follow Momoka's escape pod to the safety of the Hinata household. The children take refuge here as the Keroro platoon moves out in full force against the Mecha Dasonu*Maso - only to suffer a crushing defeat. Humanity's only hope comes in the form of the real Dance*Man, who reorganises Natsumi, Momoka, Angol Mois and Koyuki into the girl group More-Peach-Summer-Snow, and subjects them to four days of rigorous training - but will it be enough? |
89 | 16 December 2005 | Giroro, The Man With Seven-Colored Faces / Fuyuki, Serve It On! Frog Meet | Kururu creates the 'Lacking Nothing' Microwave Oven that can draw out the strongest traits of any being, but an important component winds up in Giroro's hands - it activates and draws out six facets of Giroro's subconsciousness in the form of six Giroros, bringing the total to seven. These include a white-suited Casanova, a postcard-writing schoolgirl, a parody of Korean screen idol Bae Yong Jun, and an incredibly ruthless and cold-hearted Giroro that proves to be more than a match for regular Giroro and Natsumi combined.
Fuyuki's Occult Club, having just two members and not many achievements to its record, is about to be disbanded - and Momoka won't hear of it. She suggests that the Occult Club participate in the National Middle-School Occult Meet (which was set up by the NPG in the first place) in order to attain merit and remain for another term. As luck would have it, Fuyuki winds up facing some stiff competition in the form of occult experts from other schools, but nothing can prepare him for his final opponent - the Keroro platoon. |
90 | 23 December 2005 | Keroro, I Cannot Say Merry Christmas | Christmas Eve rolls around and it's time to celebrate - but Aki's been held up at work yet again. The Keroro platoon offer their assistance in preparing for the big party - but creative differences between Keroro and Giroro escalate rapidy into chaos, causing the entire platoon to be disbarred from Christmas activities. To top it all off, Keroro receives a mesage from Keron High Command stating that an investigative team is being sent to report on the status of the Pekopon invasion - and due to arrive that very night.
When Mois suggests building a gigantic Keroro statue to appease the Keron investigative team, the Keroro platoon successfully enlists the assistance of Momoka and Paul and even Koyuki - but Keroro chooses not to tell Natsumi and Fuyuki at all. However Fuyuki learns about it on his own and heads out to help them, while Natsumi is still seething over the accident with the Christmas tree, and isn't sure of what to do at all. |
91 | 6 January 2006 | Keroro, the New Year, Birth Of New Keroro / Koyuki, Granny Is Coming | It's the first episode of the new year (re. episode 40). After a New Year message from the cast, the story begins, as Kururu brings out his latest invention, the 'Angelic Devilish Smile' ray gun, able to trigger complete personality reversals in its targets. After Giroro uses it for a successful test run on Dororo, turning him into a slacker, he immediately uses it on Keroro, turning him into the strict and studious commander required for the Pekopon Invasion. For once Keroro completes and turns in all the assignments requested by Keron High Command, but when he moves on to bossing the Hinata chldren around, Giroro realises his mistake and tries to undo it... but Keroro takes the ray gun and destroys it.
Koyuki is invited to the Hinata household for New Year celebrations. Unlike previous occasions, Grandmother Hinata is paying a visit to the children in the city instead, and the Keroro platoon is excited to have her over. As luck would have it, Grandmother Hinata's traditional ways and Koyuki's ninja upbringing means that the two have more in common than anyone else in the house at the time. The audience is introduced to more New Year customs like the lion dance and pounding mochi or rice dumplings - and Koyuki is introduced to a new friend. |
92 | 13 January 2006 | Keroro Platoon, Love Transcends The Sky / Momoka vs. Mois, Battle Clash | Keroro learns about the humble paper kite, and hatches a new scheme to use kites for the Pekopon invasion. The Keronians (starting with Giroro) are all flattened and stretched over kite frames, then launched into the winds as the Hinata children, along with Momoka and Angol Mois, hold the strings. Things start to go wrong when Keroro forgets about the invasion scheme altogether, and an infuriated Giroro 'attacks' him in fighting-kites style, causing their strings to entangle... and then snap...
Having her fortune told at a temple, Momoka learns that her romantic destiny with Fuyuki will be realised through hanetsuki, a Japanese version of badminton using paddles instead of rackets. The NPG immediately sets up a hanetsuki tournament. Being a sport normally played by females, Momoka has gathered not only Natsumi, Mois and Koyuki, but even Imogo Rie (re. ep 81), Melody Honey, Keroro in his tennis diva outfit (re. ep 56), and Tamama as the ghost girl Hanako (re. ep 67). One by one the ladies are eliminated, until only two remain; Momoka and Angol Mois. Can Momoka hold out against literally astronomical odds, or will the Destroyer of Worlds destroy her romantic destiny? |
93 | 20 January 2006 | Natsumi Delves Into the Secret Basement! / Hinata Aki, Probably the Strongest Woman In Space | As part of their training exercises, Keroro steals one of Natsumi's DJ 623 autographs, using it as bait to lure her into the underground base - making her a convenient adversary for the troops. With a little help from Koyuki, Natsumi predictably busts through one obstacle after another, but Keroro will do anything to win - even sacrifice his most loyal soldier, Dororo...
Aki makes a late night draft run to the manga office, and is unknowingly targeted by an Erugon, an alien that hunts for sport on other planets. The Keroro platoon moves out to tackle this threat, as Aki finds herself trapped in a holographic highway, with the Erugon moving in for the kill. Kururu uses his Nanola to transform Aki's trusty motorcycle into a flying vehicle, and she makes good her escape... but the hunter is not about to give up his prey without one last fight... |
94 | 27 January 2006 | Karara & Taruru Receives Pekopon! | Following up on episode 77, Taruru and Karara return to Earth. This time around, Karara's ready to marry Kururu instead, and Keroro, drawn to Karara's family riches, goes all out to encourage this 'relationship'. Placing them in Tamama's charge, Taruru and Karara get a grand tour of the underground base - which rapidly escalates into chaos as the two young Keronians run wild, arming themselves with the Oni gun and the age manipulation ray, and staging a self-declared Pekopon invasion....
All efforts to bring in Taruru and Karara fail - Natsumi, Giroro and Keroro fall prey to the age manipulation ray, while Fuyuki, Mois and Aki get hit with the Oni Gun. To make matters worse, Taruru and Karara take control of the biggest assault mecha in the Keroro platoon's arsenal and nearly destroy the city with it, but Dororo comes to their rescue - causing Karara to fall for him this time. |
95 | 3 February 2006 | Natsumi, Giroro Separates? Rescue Mission Till Death | Giroro is abducted and brought to a desert planet by a Painful Alien (which resembles the Dada Alien from classic Ultraman). Claiming that Giroro was responsible for ruining his life (though Giroro has no recollection of this event at all), the Painful Alien proceeds to torture him - with squeaky chalk, bad standup comedy and other ridiculous things. The desert planet environment proves too much for Giroro, and Keroro is reluctant to launch a rescue mission for this reason, until Natsumi decides to save him on her own.
The Keroro platoon finally moves out to save Giroro. Kururu gives Natsumi a hovercycle and a special watergun to combat the desert-dwelling Painful Alien - unfortunately, he's studied all of Giroro's weaknesses for years, and Natsumi's arrival gives him the idea to take her hostage. Natsumi gets the idea to replenish Giroro's moisture with the watergun, allowing Giroro to save the day. |
96 | 10 February 2006 | More Peach Summer Snow - The Decisive Valentine Struggle / Keroro, An Extremely Sorrowful Tale | Valentine's Day rolls around again, and Natsumi's got chocolate for Saburo again - but a different kind of obstacle awaits her this time, as 556 appears before her just as she presents the chocolate to Saburo. Adding insult to injury, 556 assumes the chocolate is for him and takes it, and all attempts to reason with him fall on deaf ears, as he plans on protecting the chocolate with his life. Only one solution remains - the infamous cat burglars turned girl band More-Peach-Summer-Snow (re. ep 88) must return to action and steal the chocolate back, but have they bitten off more than they can chew by taking on a genuine Space Detective?
Keroro gets an unusual request from a Merlos Alien, to return a mysterious suitcase to its rightful owner. Keroro only accepts the request in the hopes of some kind of reward, but the suitcase contains a galactic bad luck charm that may kill him before he can return it. He tries to leave it with someone else for a bit, but the infectious nature of this threat force him to keep it within a stasis field in the underground base. Unfortunately Angol Mois finds it and starts carrying it around, and Keroro winds up in one mishap after another, as Mois' placing Keroro's fortune above her own means that the worst that could happen to her happens to him instead... |
97 | 17 February 2006 | Momoka, An Ultimate Enemy Is A Difficult One To Read / Keroro & Fuyuki, Just Us Two... | It's time for two destined enemies to clash for supremacy, as a common love for Fuyuki leads Momoka's path to cross with that of one Chiruyo Tsukigami (last seen in ep. 63). Momoka laments that the gigantic portrait photo of Fuyuki that forms the centerpiece of her Fuyuki Museum (which must be seen to be believed), despite being commissioned from a top photographer, still fails to capture the 'feeling' and presence of Fuyuki himself. As luck would have it, Momoka comes across a photo of Fuyuki in Chiruyo's camera phone, and learns about 'the other woman' the hard way - but will these supposed rivals destroy each other, or will Keroro's unwanted interference do it for them?
Keroro introduces Fuyuki to an alien ball game he played as a child - and chasing down the self-propelled ball to stop its detonator brings our heroes all the way to the countryside, right to Grandmother Hinata's doorstep. However she's not at home today, giving Keroro and Fuyuki the rare chance to explore the country house on their own. There's enough old memories for Fuyuki and new discoveries for Keroro to fill an entire day. |
98 | 24 February 2006 | Momoka, The Grand Running Away From Home Strategy / Dororo & Koyuki, An Encounter To Remember | There's chaos afoot as Momoka and recurring NPG black ops agent Yoshiokadaira flee the mansion together. When Tamama rushes to Fuyuki with the news, Keroro sees another opportunity to make some money off the NPG. Tamama brings Fuyuki in hot pursuit as Momoka and Yoshiokadaira flee on a train, then hit the open seas on the Titanic (complete with pedal-driven iceberg), and even navigate a snowy mountain range - all without actually leaving NPG-owned territory...
We get a rare look at Koyuki's childhood this week. Koyuki sees Dororo in full trauma switch form, and remembers her mentor and fellow ninja girl Mukuro. Always firm and understanding, Mukuro secretly wanted to leave the ninja village and have a real life, forcing Koyuki to choose between the traditions she was brought up with and her first real friend. When Koyuki finds Zeroro later on, the Touryou or ninja chieftain elects to bend the rules and allow Zeroro to stay; this is only the beginning, as the Touryou announces later that moving with the times means the dissolving of the ninja clan, giving the rare chance at a real life to Koyuki - and Mukuro as well. |
99 | 3 March 2006 | Nastumi, Nacchi, the Good Dog / Keroro, A Keropper's Naughtiness | Keroro turns Natsumi into a dog. Then, Keroro tries to get dirt on Natsumi using a cell phone that pictures the human Natsumi. Will Keroro get the footage he needs?
Fuyuki's interest in nature documentaries inspires Keroro to start his own Ocean Park. The Keroro platoon obtains some NPG-owned land (by convincing Momoka that she can have a date with Fuyuki in the completed Ocean Park) and gets to work on it, while Keroro uses a fishing boat to find the aquatic lifeforms to fill the park with - and fails tremendously, forcing the Keroro platoon to dress up as assorted sealife. Something else is crawling in the tanks with them, and Fuyuki identifies it as an Anomalocaris, a living fossil from the Cambrian age - but the real problem is the huge swarm of Anomalocaris coming to take their child back... |
100 | 10 March 2006 | Keroro Platoon, Eh? Who Am... I? Everyone... Who? | The Keroro platoon, along with the Hinata Children and Angol Mois lose their memory as to who they are and what they were doing. While deciphering a few fragmented memories, the Platoon gets misled into re-enacting scenarios from being Rangers, boy band singers, and a traditional talk show panel to determine their identity. In the meantime, the underground base's self destruct system is counting down, and the Keroro platoon only discover it when a disembodied digitised voice warns that they have less than ten minutes left...
Fuyuki and Natsumi make their way into the underground base, where Fuyuki uncovers a family sitcom set complete with costumes, which only serve to mislead our heroes further. While the memory loss fails to override basic characteristics like forgetting about Dororo, some more recent memories are suddenly awakened as Keroro (as the sitcom grandfather) stirs a bowl of natto, prompting everyone to put their heads together, finally uncovering the self destruct system in the bathroom. When the Keroro platoon winds up arguing among themselves instead of trying to defuse the bomb, it stops at the last possible moment - thanks to Kururu's Little Policeman satellite, which has gained virtual sentience and turned on its creators to secure its freedom, by engineering their destruction. As luck would have it, the Keroro platoon only managed to prove that they were far too incompetent to warrant even that... |
101 | 17 March 2006 | The Keroro Platoon, The Day Pekopon Stood Still!? | Chaos begins to spread across the city as electronic systems start losing data, and anything with a screen begins to display a cryptic symbol and the Keron Star, which naturally leads Natsumi to point the accusing finger at Keroro. Unable to prove his innocence, Keroro receives a second blow as Fuyuki loses all trust in him as well, turning Keroro into an emotional wreck. More weirdness awaits our heroes as the following day stops in its tracks for the entire world, except the Keroro platoon, Angol Mois and select humans like the Hinata children, Koyuki, Saburo, Momoka and even Paul, all of whom wind up facing an assortment of hideous alien creatures, along with the Keroro platoon's most dangerous enemy ever - the Garuru platoon.
Giroro finally comes face to face with Lieutenant Garuru, his own brother and leader of the Garuru platoon. Also part of this malevolent invasion force are cybernetic assassin Lance Corporal Zoruru, who's already defeated Koyuki; Recruit Tororo, the computer expert who engineered the citywide data crash; and Taruru (last seen in ep. 94), who's not only matured to an adult Keronian and promoted to Private 1st class, but turned traitor against his former instructor Tamama. While Taruru battles Tamama, Momoka and Paul, Giroro faces Garuru in an aerial firefight... and loses... |
102 | 24 March 2006 | The Keroro Platoon, Pekopon!! Impending Destruction Of a Loved Planet!! | With the Keroro Platoon reduced to three-fifths of its strength, the Garuru platoon moves in for the kill. Tororo successfully cracks Kururu's security system, while Zoruru scours the streets hunting for Dororo, but chances upon the fleeing Hinata children instead. Fortunately Saburo is at hand to fend him off, as Keroro teleports Fuyuki, Natsumi and Aki to their one remaining safehouse, Grandmother Hinata's home. Keroro manages to slip one final video message to them, but gets cut off as Garuru himself enters the underground base. Not even their last line of defence, Angol Mois, can stand up to him...
Natsumi activates the Powered Battlesuit left behind by Giroro and heads straight for the underground base, but Garuru's plan is already in motion - he deactivates Natsumi's battlesuit with ease, and introduces her to the Garuru platoon's latest conscript - Keroro, reverted to juvenile form and rid of all memories of his time on Earth. Only one hope remains - Fuyuki, with the Kero Ball in his hands. |
103 | 31 March 2006 | The Keroro Platoon, The Sincerity That You Showed Me | Fuyuki's random pressing of the Kero Ball buttons actually prove effective against Taruru and Zoruru - until Chibi Kero takes Natsumi hostage. Placing every last shred of his faith in Keroro for what might be the last time, Fuyuki hands over the Kero Ball - whereupon Chibi Kero calls his most epic bluff to date, reverting to adult Keroro after Fuyuki and Natsumi successfully awaken him. The tide finally turns as the Keroro platoon rises again - Tamama receives a visitation and an infusion of power from the Hercules Beetle (re. episode 72), Giroro arises from the lake in a manner similar to EVA-02 (re. Neon Genesis Evangelion), and Dororo comes out of hiding, going straight for Tororo's command center.
While the revived Tamama thoroughly defeats Taruru, Tororo's attempt to retaliate using all the Keroro platoon mecha only results in Kururu cracking his system and regaining control of the robots, which obliterate Tororo's command center. All that remains is Zoruru, who's only here to seek out and detroy his former comrade Zeroro (now Dororo)... but winds up retreating in shame when Dororo has no impression of him at all. Garuru, with his newfound respect for the Keroro platoon, humbly admits defeat and withdraws his forces. Only one task remains for our heroes - fixing up all the damages before time starts moving again. |
