Meniskus speedy delete
Hi Tone, I have worked on the Meniskus band entry (my first entry here) and wondered if you'd have time to review it and let me know if it's now suitable for publication. Thanks again for your guidance! Webmanos (talk) 20:11, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I see you have improved the article considerably. I just have some more remarks, you should not include external hyperlinks in the text and try to convert some of the external links into references (such as album review). There are too many of them. Good luck! --Tone 20:17, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Tone! I'll keep working on it. I appreciate you taking the time to review and guide me on this. Webmanos (talk) 20:45, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Claim in ITN
True, but a study that proves conclusively that the Antarctic is melting because of us? That puts a whole bunch of theories out the window. I meant claim the same way I mean it when I say "I claim the sky is blue". Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 09:13, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, nevermind. I read your edit on the candidates page and I understand what you mean. Reworded to "A study by the Climatic Research Unit uncovers conclusive evidence of human involvement in climate change in Antarctica." Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 09:15, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Q
Why cut off your nose to spite your face? It's a good piece for ITN, just that Wikipedia can't do more than report what it claims; it's POV for us to seem to agree with its findings. --Dweller (talk) 11:36, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- I am probably overreacting but I really don't like words like claim in the ITN box. Anyway, if there is a source for The Climatic Research Unit is ... a leading institution concerned with the study of natural and anthropogenic climate change. I will be fine with it. But, isn't the big institution here IPCC? Just want to check. --Tone 13:22, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- No idea re the institution, but surely any report of a scientific report of this nature will always be a claim, as that's the nature (pun unintended) of science - theories, supported by evidence is as best it can do. --Dweller (talk) 14:48, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- I actually agree with Dweller here; we have claims in ITN all the time. Hell, we don't know how many people died in Earthquake A; we only know what news sources claim. What's next? "Earthquake in Szichuan claimed to have killed 200"? Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 16:18, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- I see there is a debate at ITn/C already, no point in iterating it here. I see I am not the only one who has issues with this post. --Tone 22:00, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Why was this Project Offset article deleted?. --SkyWalker (talk) 16:02, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
How you came to the conclusion that the page was "blatant advertising" is beyond me. I must lack the lose grip on reality which you seem to grasp at. I have sometimes questioned myself why I left this place, and it is people like you who remind me. Congratulations on removing yet another article which does not adhere to your standard of acceptance. Havok (T/C/e/c) 19:23, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- I suppose this two are connected so a single answer. After rechecking, I consider reasonable to restore the company article and send it to afd instead. It has issues regarding the notability and sources. Regarding the game, it has little actual info and it has not yet been released, so I have WP:CRYSTAL problem here. If you disagree, feel free to take it to a deletion review. Greetings. --Tone 21:56, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- (By the way, the reason for deletion was a db-spam tag).--Tone 22:03, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- My question is did you simply delete Project Offset because it fails Crystal?. If so half of the gaming article fails WP:Crystal. Are you going to delete all of them?. Who add the deletion tag or did you simply delete them?. If so you have violates admin tools. Please restore the article at one. Project Offset is a notable game. --SkyWalker (talk) 03:56, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- I deleted the article because it was tagged db-spam. The tag was added by another user. Regarding the game being notable, I shomehow don't see how a game that wasn't even released yet and with so little facts known can be notable, apart from a leaked trailer. Hence, Crystal. I would prefer youatke the article to WP:DRV instead, if you want to have it restored. Greetings. --Tone 10:20, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- The trailer is hardly leaked as it is released by the company. The company was also featured on a notable TV show where they showed of the engine they are working on, and they have a deal with Intel. Crystal defines products, games, music etc. that has _no_ information available other then pure speculation. Not said terms when it comes to things that actually have a status of being in production. If so, most articles in regards to coming events would be deemed crystal ball-ing in WP's eyes. Havok (T/C/e/c) 15:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

you have deleted an entry
Dear Tone,
YOu have deleted an entry Abhaswaras. No doubt, this inforamtion is not used by many people, that does not mean that it should be deleted from an encyclopaedia, right?>
Please reinstate it. You can edit it if you think the presentation requires modification, in consultation with me.
regards, --kishore patnaik (hyderabad) (talk) 12:18, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. The article was deleted in a prod process. Since you object, I will restore it. Since I am not very familiar with the topic, I would prefer you improve it. Also, since there are few articles that link to this one, you may want to take care of that as well. Geretings. --Tone 14:09, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi Tone,
Thanks a lot for reinstatement. There is not much information available on this topic but the entry is found in the encyclopaedia on HInduism by Dowson, which is an important source. However, I will try to improve it in the next few days.
cheers,

New article
I would like you to create article Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport fire from here, you may write a short paragraph, I will expand it later, thank. 96.229.193.68 (talk) 03:46, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. You can create the article yourself, you just need to create an account. I invite you to do so, it is much more convenient and easier to communicate with other users. --Tone 13:03, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Hello, you have deleted the ProQuake page. This is one of the most important Quake modifications in the gaming community, significant for it's ongoing continuation of a very significant ten year old game, and significant in it's being a de facto standard for contemporary Quake 1 play. Could you restore the article please, or explain how you see it not being significant. Thank you 212.56.88.63 (talk) 21:25, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. The article was deleted in the prod process. Since you object, I will restore the article (standard procedure). However, since the article was tagged by two users, I'll send it through afd (standard procedure as well). The bigghes problem is third party sources. If you can fix that, I am sure there will be no problems with keeping it. Greetings. --Tone 21:31, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Gordano Messaging Suite delete
Hi Tone!
The article for Gordano Messaging Suite was deleted as blatant advertising, yet articles for Scalix, Exhange server and Zimbra all remain.
The content of the Gordano Messaging Suite article was not substantively different to the Scalix one, so why does that one remain, or why was the Gordano Messaging Suite article singled out for deletion?
Thanks!
Dob78 (talk) 11:36, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Most of the article was indeed written in advertising style. Thus, deletion. The articles you mention are not an excellent example of non-advertising prose, really ;-) If they exist, this may be because nobody has tagged them yet. Greetings. --Tone 12:49, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Tone, I don't understand your reply. You seem to be saying it's ok for an article to be "blatant advertising" as long as nobody complains? That's even assuming I agree the article was advertising, which I don't - nor do I believe the other articles I listed are advertising, although the Scalix one is worse than the one that was deleted in my opinion.
The Gordano Messaging Suite article contained as far as I recall, no emotive langauage and no subjective statements. It was a list of simple objective statements of fact about that software application. None of those facts can be disputed. I can't see how this merits a deletion?
Dob78 (talk) 13:18, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, misunderstanding. It's not ok for articles to be advertisements, by any means. The thing is that such articles are occasionally written but someone will tag them sooner or later. Then they get either fixed or deleted. Remember, WP is a process in motion. Regarding the article I deleted... maybe you're right. I'll restore it and send it through afd instead. If the community finds it ok, I have no problems with keeping it. Greetings. --Tone 13:23, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Tone - that's great, we'll see what the community think!

Deletion review for Mitchell Hanson

Deleted Content
Hello,
I want to work on the content that has been deleted and blocked. I want to create an entry for Amalgam Digital. I want to create an entry that has verifiable references and conforms to wikipedia standards.
Please advise the next steps I need to take and how we can work to resolve any issues.
--Jay-Kins (talk) 02:03, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Because the article has been deleted and reposted several times, I suggest you write the new version as a subpage of your userpage. Then, if it's ok, we can repost it. I guess it's the best way to do. Greetings. --Tone 17:36, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Credit for ITN.
Thanks for posting Bhutan king news. Just wanted to check if you award me a souvenir like this for my collection as per this. --GPPande talk! 09:34, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- Come on, do I always have to do that... Spencer is handing out the badges usually... In fact, why don't you do it the same as he does on his userpage? Cheers. --Tone 09:45, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- This process should be similarly followed as is currently done for DYK. If people start adding these templates on their own then credibility of these may be lost. So it is good practice that an admin award it. Maybe my concepts are wrong but I just thought of checking with you as have done in past with some other admins. --GPPande talk! 10:15, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- The thing is that when I add a new item to ITN, I sometimes don't have time to add templates to the talkpages and all the bureaucracy so I usually do none of those. There are several users who monitor ITN and add templates. I don't think you lost credibility if you award a souvenir yourself as long as you are self-consistent. And I appreciate your help in the whole process, of course. --Tone 10:42, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I will ask Spencer this time to award me one. I also appreciate your consistent inputs/updates on ITN. --GPPande talk! 13:09, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Deletion non-admin closure question
Hello, Tone. I have a question - did I have the right to do this? Was it okay? I felt it was after reading about non-admin closures. Cheers, Ouro (blah blah) 22:19, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Hm, I suppose I should have closed the afd myself since I deleted the article as a copyvio. But by all means, your move was correct. No article -> no afd :-) Thank you for fixing it. Greetings. --Tone 22:40, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- I thought of it this way: one person deletes, the other closes, or something to this effect. Thank you and have a great day! --Ouro (blah blah) 08:03, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Why?
Why did you delete Gali's Method? What did it lack? Please answer me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ivanovsson (talk • contribs) 00:57, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. It was deleted because it has several problems. First, the nomination was Wikipedia is not a how-to guide. This article is about a non-notable and well-known method of perform a simple arithmetic function. Besides, it has no sources, therefore it can not be verified and there is no proof this method is notable. I hope I answered you. Greetings. --Tone 10:42, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
why did you delete my article "Hodokwan"
Why did you delete my article "hodokwan". It was purley educational, and I found nothing wrong with it. Tell me why??? I was trying to let people know about a type of mixed martial arts that not too many people know about, I was trying to bring it out of the shadows. At least tell me how to improve it, so i can get it reposted "correctly"
read my question and reply please. im sorry i changed your page, but i need the article back up. You can change back your page(idc). But please respond to "why did you delete my article "hodokwan"
- Hi. The article has many problems. For one thing, it is just a collection of terms with no coherent structure. Check judo or karate to see how a martial arts article should look like. Also, you are not supposed to quote yourself as a source, this is very much in contrary with Wikipedia standards. I suggest you rewrite the article completely, there's not much useful content in what I have deleted. I hope this helps. Regards. --Tone 10:42, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Rob Dixon September 5th
I am Rob Dixon and noticed that you deleted my page because it read like an advert. As a musician with an active career and key involvement with Owl Studios (a record label established in 2005) i would like to know what can be done to re instate my page. If you google my name there is ample information about my last two releases Dixon/rhyne project and Rob Dixon and Triology, as well as info on my performances as well as info about the record label. please if you can, please contact me at Dixontsax@aol.com Sincerely Rob Dixon —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dixontsax (talk • contribs) 04:23, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I prefer answering here. Since the article was deleted in the prod process and you object the deletion, the standard procedure is restoring the article. What you can improve is to organize sources a bit more (maybe use footnote references) and some details, like he worked alongside renowned - renowned needs a source here, otherwise it's redundant. Then it should be fine. Greetings. --Tone 10:42, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey Tone,
Any issues with the wording of the stimulus package headline 130.113.81.33 (talk) 16:48, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
I've added details to the main article about the stimulus package. Keep in mind that specific details of the plan are still being rolled out. Can you post it now? It has already been a few days after the announcement. 130.113.81.33 (talk) 03:47, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Brant Imperatore deletion
Tone, Ouch! My feelings are hurt. Neither I nor anyone I am associated with created my Wikipedia page, so I must have been notable to someone besides my wife and kids. Actually, I have always wondered who that was. Anyway, if you could reinstate the page, that would be great. I offer no other reason than it was nice to be noted and I wouldn't say that my career has been insignificant. Thanks, Brant 65.120.67.98 (talk) 22:51, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Don't take admin actions too personal ;-) The article was deleted in the proposed deletion process, since you object, the standard follow is to restore the article. However, I'd be happy if the article had some more footnote style references. Nothing that can't be fixed. Greetings. --Tone 23:05, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Please undelete scrubbing
Please undelete scrubbing. It is not a "neologism", but an essential part of non-linear editing, especially digital audio editing. Thanks. –radiojon (talk) 05:06, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. The only content of the article I deleted was Scrubbing is a technique, commonly used in analog audio editing, by the moving of a magnetic audio tape back and forth slowly across playback heads in order to search for a specific tone or sound. This is not really enough for an article... I suggest you start it again, it will be better to have something more than a one-sentence definition. Greetings. --Tone 09:58, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Deletion of the "over it" page.
I dont see any reason for the band page to be taken away.
This deleting inactive stuff, will make this site into a pop-pedia in a few years. Stupid, stupid.
