The 2009 Superleague Formula season will be the second Superleague Formula championship and begin some time in 2009.

Rumours

  • It is likely that the field will increase in 2009. It has been hinted that since Round 1 at Donington Park in 2008 there has been over 20 new football clubs showing an interest in entering in the future. Among those teams is rumoured the Valencia CF from Spain, Suwon Blue Wings from South Korea, a club from Mexico, and another club from Portugal.
  • The Brazilian, former Formula One circuit in Rio de Janeiro is rumoured to join the calendar in 2009, along with a further two races in Europe.
