Fenner plc (LSEFENR) is a leading British-based manufacturer of industrial belting and other polymer-based products. It is headquartered in Hessle and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

The business was founded in 1861 as a manufacturer of leather belting. In 1921 it diversified into textile belting and subsequently into polymer belting. In 2006 the Company initiated a major expansion in Ohio.[1]

Fenner acquisition

Several sovereign wealth funds are expressing an interest in the acquisition of Fenner, [2] and two Far East SWFs have undertaken corporate investigations into a possible acquisition of Fenner. The acquisition would ensure an ongoing product development and technological base for the manufacturing industries in the Far East. [3]
