Breathe Carolina

Breathe Carolina is a two-piece Electronica and Screamo[1] band from Denver, Colorado, comprised of Kyle Even and David Schmitt. According to the band, the etymology of the band' s name refers to a dream one of the group's members had "encouraging an older woman, Carolina, to calm down in the midst of stressful circumstances"[2]

Background

Both David and Kyle had musical experience outside of Breathe Carolina. After an interview with them they reportedly said that they had wanted to be dinosaurs when they grew up. "Yeah I wanted to be a T-Rex", said Kyle,"and i wanted to be a Platopasaurus Rexodon", David rplied. Some people claim it was a rumor but reporters claim to have proof. In years past, Kyle was conscripted by some middle school friends to front their band. As time passed, he would refine his vocal abilities in a variety of situations. Meanwhile, David was playing guitar in slower, indie rock ensembles. Their mutual friends drew them into each others orbit, and soon they were living in the same house . According to Kyle Even, "Breathe Carolina just kind of happened. "We really didn't think about it much. I was playing in another band, and so was David, but we were falling out of those. We had a lot of fun writing together, so we thought, 'Let's just do this, and see what happens.'" In early 2007, they started a Myspace page, hoping to get 20 or so listeners. However, almost immediately they began building a name for themselves. In November 2008 they made their first music video with Director Robby Starbuck for the song "Diamonds," and it was announced at the Troubadour in West Hollywood while they were on tour with Pierce the Veil.Cite error: The opening <ref> tag is malformed or has a bad name (see the help page).

Tours

The duo has toured relentlessly, sharing the stage with contemporaries such as The Secret Handshake, Millionaires, and BrokeNCYDE.[3] Their lastest tour, "The Delicious Tour," was along side Pierce The Veil and Emarosa.[4]
