When the World Comes Down is the upcoming third studio album by The All-American Rejects set for release on December 16, 2008.[1] It was also Alternative Press most anticipated album of the year. It is produced by Eric Valentine who has recorded with groups like Maroon 5. It is the first album that the Rejects recorded with a hidden track and the first they made using tape to record the songs. So far two singles have been released: "Gives You Hell" & Mona Lisa (When the World Comes Down).

Production and marketing

The All-American Rejects began to create their follow up to Move Along roughly around mid November 2007, after a four-month hiatus. As a way to maintain fans' interest, the Rejects highlighted their record making process through sporadic live internet broadcasts, providing a direct look into the record-making process. To further promote the upcoming album, the Rejects also shot a Got Milk? ad.[2] Also, the band released two song previews, "Mona Lisa" and "Sierra's Song" (Now Renamed "Sunshine"). When The World Comes Down is now available for pre-order on iTunes. The song "Mona Lisa (When the World Comes Down)" was made available as a single on iTunes on November 18th, 2008. The band did an interview with Entertainment Weekly to further promote the record by stating that "It's like nothing you've ever heard". The band talked about how the songs were put together and how it is different from Move Along. The CD version of the song "Real World" was released as downloadable content for Rock Band on December 2. The Rejects posted the lyrics to all of the songs from the new album on their official website on December 11, five days before the albums release. Also on December 11, the group released 30-second clips to all of the songs on the new album on their official MySpace page.
