Jaden Yuki
Jaden Yuki, known in Japan as Judai Yuki (遊城十代 Yūki Jūdai), is the main character of the anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX in Japan).
Character
15-year old Jaden Yuki is admitted to Duel Academy (Duel Academia in the Japanese version), a boarding school that was established by Seto Kaiba. Before he goes to school, Jaden gets a Winged Kuriboh (Hane Kuribo) card from Yugi Muto (Yugi Mutou in the English manga and Japanese versions). Once at school, Jaden makes a low score on the test and is placed in the Slifer Red (Osiris Red) along with Syrus Truesdale (Sho Marufuji) and Chumley Huffington (Hayato Maeda), his two close friends. While Jaden has bad test scores, he is very talented at dueling and has a good instinct. This causes some people to fear him. He also was promoted to the Ra Yellow Dorm, but didn't accept promotion the first time.
Judai makes several enemies at his school, including Dr. Vellian Crowler (Professor Cronos de Medici), who is defeated by Judai in a duel. Doctor Vellian tries to kick Jaden out of school. Jaden plays an Elemental Hero deck. This is a deck-type that is focused on fusing his monsters. Therefore, Judai's signature card is no other than the fusion card E-Hero Flame Wingman.
Despite his attitude, he is an accomplished duelist, having defeated Dr. Crowler during his examination duel, Chazz Princeton (Jun Manjoume) in a school-wide duel, and Bastion Misawa (Daichi Misawa) for the representative position. He is also responsible for the defeat of almost every Seven Star assassin thus so far.
Card list
Since the beginning of the series, Jaden has used the same dueling deck, made almost entirely of Elemental Hero monsters, as well as various spell and trap cards that support them. As Dr. Crowler has said, he runs a "medieval" deck, and most of his monsters are very weak, especially his "partner", Winged Kuriboh. Unlike other duelists like Bastion, who duels based on intense mathematical analyzation, and Chazz, who duels based on the power of his cards, Jaden duels almost entirely on instinct and simple combos.
