Grandia is a game that was developed by Game Arts for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1999. In the game you take the role of Justin, an amateur explorer, in a somewhat industrial/medieval aged world that is based on exploration. Justin and his friend, Sue, soon stumble upon a message left by an ancient race explaining that there is more to the world than what is known at the time. Justin and Sue eventually leave to go find that new land. It is regarded as the best role playing game for the Sega Saturn, if not the best game in general for the Sega Saturn. In Japan, it was the competitor to Final Fantasy VII on the Sony Playstation, but a dedicated following to the Final fantasy series, coupled with the lack of support for the Saturn, resulted in a failure for the game to come to American shores. Some years later, it appeared on the Playstation. It also has two sequels.
