The Stripe-headed Brush-finch (Arremon torquatus) is a species of bird in the Emberizidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, and heavily degraded former forest. Until recently, it was placed in the genus Buarremon.[1] Additionally, the members of the assimilis group, which has a grey (not white) eye-brow, is sometimes considered a separate species, the Grey-striped Brush-finch (Arremon assimilis).
