Railways in Agra
Agra is of interest to the railway enthusiast, as it has a complicated railway geography as a result of its history. The complications involve a north-south broad gauge line intersecting an east-west broad gauge line. The crossing is around the Hari Parwat area where the east west line passes under the North South line.
As well, a metre gauge line arrives from the west, and another departs for the east. However, the actual junction between these two metre gauge routes is at Achhnera, 27km to the west of Agra Fort.
As a result has quite a few railway station serving different Railways.

- Tundla Junction - Only 22 KM from Agra.
Getting In
Agra is very well connected to most of the major cities in India.
There are direct trains between Agra and Mumbai, but all of them take around 24 Hours. It is much better to take August Kranti Rajdhani Express or the Garib Rath which take only around 16 hours from Mathura, which is 1 hours drive from Agra.
Towards Kolkata and North East
There are direct trains from Agra Fort Railway Station to Kolkata, but one gets gets more option from Tundla Junction, which is only a 40 Min drive from Agra.
