SUET
Sylhet University of Engineering and Technology, known with its initials SUET, is a upcoming govt. state-supported technical & engineering university located in Sylhet, Bangladesh. SUET is currently known as Sylhet Engineering College.
The total development process of a Country can not proceed without development of Science and Technology. Today’s world is coming forward to meet the challenge of the 21st Century through rapid development of Science and Technology. In order to meet the challenge of the 21st Century, it is essential for the country to produce huge numbers of engineers and technologies.
There are five universities of Engineering and Technology and some private universities in Bangladesh for providing engineering education at B.Sc level which is not sufficient.
In order to meet the present and future job market demand in the country and abroad, it is essential to establish new engineering colleges. It is also essential to expand engineering/technological education in order to ensure proper use of technology.
In the SUET, each year 180 students will be graduated in three degree level courses. Such as (i) B.Sc Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ii) B.Sc Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering and (iii) B.Sc Engineering in Civil Engineering. Soon the number of seat and departments will be increased. After obtaining graduation in Engineering, the graduates will be able to get job in different industries, multi-national companies , engineering sectors and business organizations in the country and abroad and also they will be able to make themselves capable of self employment.
Sylhet Engineering College (SEC) is established as a degree level Engineering College in the public sector. The examination of the courses will be controlled by the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and the students of Sylhet Engineering College (SEC) will be awarded the degree from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Sylhet Engineering College soon will be upgraded to University and it's name will become Sylhet University of Engineering and Technology, (SUET)
