Sylhet Engineering College

Sylhet Engineering College, abbreviated as SEC is one of best institutions of Bangladesh for Engineering education. It is a newly established public Engineering college. Sylhet Engineering College is affiliated with Shahjalal University of Science & Technology.

Location

The Sylhet Engineering College campus is located at Shadipur, Sylhet sadar. It is a nicely located place. The college campus accommodates three large academic buildings, one library and computer centre building , one admin building, one principal quarters, etc. There is one female student’s hostel and two male student’s hostels too.

1. Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. 2. Department of Computer Science and Engineering. 3. Department of Civil Engineering.

Each departments offers 4 years B.Sc in Engineering degree.

Departments

Sylhet Engineering College is equipped with state-of-the-art lab facilities. There is a central Computer Centre from where the whole computer and network system of SEC is managed and controlled. All the Computers in the campus are connected through 1 Gbps LAN connection with each other. There are in total 126 HP brand High Performance workstation computers equipped with most modern Intel Core 2 Duo processors and 8 powerful HP servers equipped with latest dual core Intel Xeon server processors. All the departments are also built with necessary and latest laboratory and library facilities. There is a fast internet facility is available across the whole campus.

It is expected that, Sylhet Engineering College soon will be upgraded to a full-fledged public university and will be named Sylhet University of Engineering and Technology (SUET).
