The Azteca class is the name of a coastal patrol vessel used by the mexican navy. Azteca class was designed and built by the British company Vosper Thorneycroft for Mexican Navy at 1976. It is fast multi-role patrol craft with good nautic characteristics. The first unit was deployed to mexican navy at 1976. Original units were powered by Paxman diesels of either 3,600 hp or 4,800 hp. Original units were named with pre-hispanic tribes names.
