Tasks you can do:

Here are some open tasks for WikiProject Children's literature, an attempt to create and standardize articles related to children's literature. Feel free to help with any of the following tasks.

Things you can do

Percy Jackson

The summary for him is terrible its waayy too small. It needs fixing A LOT.

Luke??

Should someone start the Article for Luke, because he is a very important character? Queenqpawn (talk) 18:49, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Race

Can anyone add 'Race' to character template that is being used by several pages of characters in this series? I feel it is important since the books deals with many types of cratures, from centaurs to demigods. (Emino 08:31, 8 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Advance Copy

I am not a member of wikipedia and I have a question about whether something meets wikipedia's standatds. I work for a newspaper and, if an advanced copy of a book is not used for a book review, the reviewer puts them out where anyone can take them. The Titans Curse was one of these books. Would it meet wikipedia's standards to publish spoilers about the plot? Also, The Sea of Monsters should be further explained (as with The Lightning Theif). Could someone please elaborate on this.

Putting down spoilers for an unrealeased book would probably be unnecessary, as it would ruin the plot for many. The earliest day I would adivise adding this would be May 5th, 2007. We are trying our best. Thank You. I hope this helps.

It does. I will wait until then. Thanks!

You are welcome. --Geracudd 00:53, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Manticore

Could someone please cite a source saying the Manticore appears in the Titan's Curse.--Geracudd 01:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

yeah thats why u read the book idiot

I need a source for something that specific.--Geracudd 21:36, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

here you go Geracudd " Dr. Thorn, is a monster (the manticore)" this is an excert from wikipedia. User:broncofreak12321 —Preceding comment was added at 16:27, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Return of the Gorgon?

Again, source please. I don't know where you got the idea that was the name.--Geracudd 13:26, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Title for Book 4

The title has yet to be released by the author although an update is posted to Rick Riordan's blog http://rickriordan.blogspot.com/2007/04/percy-four-update.html Please note the Gorgon thing is nonsense.

Thanks. I suspected as much.--Geracudd 00:57, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The title is going to be The Battle of/in the Labrinth.--User:broncofreak12321 —Preceding comment was added at 16:23, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

third book

the third book is out and the article is nothing but a few hints to the 1st three chapters!

Movie!

The IMDB Site is not good, you have to signup for a pay account. Thus, for non-paying people it is an irrelevant source. Should I remove it? Chanceeastham (talk) 03:43, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there aren't much references to the movie, and I really want to know more about it! But I must say, it has the imformation you need to know. (Strix Struma (talk) 01:35, 13 February 2008 (UTC))[reply]

I thought a movie was officially announced... production should begin soon if it happens. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ehccheehcche (talkcontribs) 02:15, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am pretty sure the author of the books (Rick Riordan0 has a role in making the movie. Not sure what it is... hopefully more news to follow! Ehccheehcche (talk) 01:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Higher Standards

all of the articles relating to teh series seriously need higher standards; just reading a few lines of it, i noticed that it sounds more like a brief oral description than an encyclopedia entry. for example, this part of Nico's description in the article for Titan's Curse: "This is when Percy realizes that Hades is their father, but it isn't determined whether or not Nico knows this. Also he hates and wants Percy dead since he did not protect his sister as he promised." it would be better as something like "He now hates Percy because he did not protect Bianca like he had promised."

I find that many of the summary articles here are not very well written. This is a great series, and I think that the articles should be written with a bit more care. I have taken some very small steps in editing them for better flow. As I have the time I will edit more. Aleixa (talk) 18:58, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I second this person's opinion.

Look at this: What we know about The Last Olympian so far:

We get to meet Luke's mom.

We get to meet the goddess, Hestia.

The release date will be 5th May 2009.

The first draft of the book is done and Rick is working on the revisions.

Rick posted the book's title on the 4th September.

This is the last one in the series chronicling Percy Jackson's fight with the Titan lord Kronos. (sources: blue trident)

Who in god's name would just do that?

The Big Three

I think there should be an article explaining who the Big Three Are(Posiden, Zeus, and Hades). What ya guys think? King Rock Go 'Skins! 00:14, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

not necessary. instead, let there be a "Characters in Percy Jackson and the Olympians" article and list them under a subsection of "Olympians" as "The Big Three" and explain it there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.233.246.235 (talk) 07:21, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help

Alot of articles in about the series need to be cleaned up. Especially with details regarding the fourth book. I just finished it and will try and help some. Thanks! Ehccheehcche (talk) 01:03, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First kiss with Annabeth

It says in the article that in the Battle of the Labyrinth, "On page 203 Percy and Annabeth share their first kiss." However, in the Sea of Monsters (paperback edition), page 268, "Annabeth planted a kiss on my cheek".

  • I would have deleted the text, but I don't know what to replace it with.
  • Would that sea of monsters kiss count, as they aren't "sharing" the kiss?

Meh, I'm probably treating a wikipedia article as harry potter analysis material. But I thought it was worth pointing out.

List of Characters?

I think there should be a page on the list of characters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CAPTAIN234 (talkcontribs) 15:04, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

what about the likeness to Harry Potter

title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.139.82.126 (talk) 13:50, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about them? I don't see any, other than their kids books. Trance.fusion (talk) 13:45, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Same plot as The Lightning Thief. Very similar parts to the Harry Potter books.--62.0.165.68 (talk) 21:33, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

battle of the labyrinth excess

there is WAAY too much information in the battle of the labyrinth segment, ESPECIALLY without paragraph spacing —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.108.86.220 (talk) 22:37, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unecessary Spoiler Warning?

I'm not sure that there should be a spoiler warning at the beginning of the article, as Wikipedia does not promote spoiler warnings; however, before I remove it I would like a second opinion. Ladywitchthought (talk) 06:41, 25 September 2008 (UTC) Never mind Ladywitchthought (talk) 05:49, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-I total Agree There should be a spoiler warning but luckily i have already read the series —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.80.36.89 (talk) 20:03, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Book 5 information, In or not?

Well, we have put in the Book 5 information for several times, and it has been removed by users for several times. I'm putting it back for now, until we have a solution.Mktsay123 (talk) 15:34, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Messed Up

Anyone noticed that in Percy, Annabeth & others have who they like instead of gender? does that make sense? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.102.54.36 (talk) 06:10, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bad book summaries

The summaries read like freakin' stuff off the back flap of a book. Wikipedia doesn't care about spoiling, and it's meant to be as un-biased (not a word, but I'm tired) as possible. 71.139.201.85 (talk) 16:40, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to come here to say just the same. The summary of a plot is supposed to cover from the start to the end. It starts by laying out the basic situation in a sentence or two, saying who the main characters are, and then describing in a reasonably concise way what happens to them. It then gives the resolution. Even in a series with extensive hooks into the next volume, there's usually some temporary resolution at the end of a volume, and if not, one says so. the way to do it is to lay the book aside, and try to write as if telling someone a friend or relative who isn't likely to read the book, what the book is about so the next time you go on about how much you like it, he'll understand you. Tyson the Cyclops + Juniper

Tyson the Cyclops redirects back to the Percy Jackson & The Olympians main page. Juniper does not have her own article yet. Should articles be made about them? Extremepro (talk) 04:57, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
