Alfhausen is a town which is a member of the Samtgemeinde Bersenbrück in the district of Osnabrück, Lower Saxony.
Geography
Location
Alfhausen is nearly 27 km north of Osnabrück.
Climate
Moderate sea climate affected by damp northwest hoist by the North Sea. In the means of many years the air temperature in Alfhausen 8,5° reaches - 9,0 °C and there fall approx. 700 mm precipitation. Between May and August can be counted with on the average 20-25 summer days (climatological name for days, on which the maximum temperature exceeds 25 °C).
History
Alfhausen was created 974. The name Alfhausen comes from the Low German and means "Eleven houses". The exact history is however unknown. The majority of the population is Roman Catholic. However there are also different religious communities in the town.
Sightseeing
Starting from 1971 the Alfsee put on as floodcontrol storage basins for the Hase artificially attained its name by the proximity to the municipality Alfhausen. As a popular trip goal for holidays travelers and Ausflügler the lake won in the last years at great importance. This retention basin was extended in the 90's by a second retention basin, in order to receive additional catching surfaces.
The straight freshly reconditioned church from that 13th Century is one the main marriage worthynesses of the place. See with dignity church is the equipment out partial gothical time, like e.g. the Bentheimer Taufstein. The moreover one there are some well received buildings from that in the old local centre still 16th Century.
