Marneuli
Appearance
Marneuli is a small city in southern Georgia. It is located near the border with neighboring Azerbaijan and Armenia.
According to information of the Department of Statistics of Georgia the population of the city was 20,100 in 2006. The city is predominantly populated by Turkish Spoken people (83,1%).
It is the source of a Georgian military air base, and the base was bombed on August 8th, 2008 during the War in South Ossetia (2008), with 4 dead and 5 wounded reported.[1]
