Wikipedia:Bounty board
| Would you like to donate money to the Wikimedia Foundation without having to pay for it? Or have you ever wanted to get paid for writing for Wikipedia? Well now you can do both! (Well, sort of - you just don't get to keep the money.) |
The Wikipedia Bounty Board is where Bounty Keepers post bounties for articles they would like to see elevated to Featured Status. A bounty can be any amount of money, and two Bounty Keepers can combine their money for a single bounty on an article if they like. Bounty Hunters go to work on those articles, trying to get them up to featured quality. If the article becomes a featured article before the bounty's expiration date, the Bounty Keeper donates the bounty money to the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization, in the name of the Bounty Hunters who worked so hard on the article.
- Please note that no one actually gets paid to write articles, as that is considered contrary to the wiki philosophy. The money all goes to the foundation.
