Assessment

This looks like a very nice article for a small unincorporated community. One thing that needs to be changed is the excessive number of external links within the article itself. Some of them should be turned into references. Some of the others should probably be eliminated completely as not fitting within the Wikipedia's external links policy. ^Blank ^Verse 11:07, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe "Petrol" was a local Native American indian word. But Mattole is. The Petro-currency and the word "Petrolia" come from the oil that was originally found there.

History

To say that "the town was originally named Petrolia" suggests that its name has since changed. Reword this sentence or at least remove the comma following "Petrolia." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.46.200.230 (talk) 00:58, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
