Zeta Phi Beta edits
Dear HexaChord,
I deleted the information about the lawsuits, etc. under "Controversies" because it is information that is meant to be discussed only amongst sorority members. Also, the information is inaccurate and out-of-date. Will you PLEASE stop changing my edits regarding my sorority's history?

Look before you leap
I'm sorry that I was not logged in when I edited the Zune article, but you should have been more careful when reverting my recent edit for being "unconstructive." Did you actually read the edit? - MajorB <talk> <contribs> - —Preceding undated comment was added at 23:23, 31 December 2008 (UTC).
- Can you give a source? Sounds strange.----Merry Headcheese!-hexaChord2 23:27, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hello my friend, I guess you already noticed that it's indeed true - but to support your "Sounds strange": Here you find a funny-written German article [1] with the quote "eine so bizarre Geschichte, verrückter als Fiktion" and here is the original English quote: "a fact-is-stranger-than-fiction story" [2].

I'm reverting your edit to the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election since most of the users have agreed to the use of a map gallery. I'm adding in that reasoning to the edit summary. -- Frightwolf (talk) 00:11, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Contribute equals Vandalism
I guess you're an overworked and probably upaid volunteer wanting to protect the wiki community, and I appreciate that. Occasionally I contribute something to a wiki, and most times it just ends up summarily deleted by someone who doesn't follow the recommendation on this talk page to "assume good faith." I'm sad about that, because to me it means wiki still hasn't grown into a mature tool for collaborative information sharing. Just in case you actually read this, and are interested in feedback, please convey to your team my refreshed disappointment in and fading hope for wiki. I have no interest in advertising or selling anything, nor in adding inaccurate info to wiki. If you have some sort of Detested Contributor List, feel free to add me so as to save us all some time by immediately and automatically deleting anything I'm moved to share. That way I can move from inspired to discouraged more quickly. :) Jw4nvc (talk) 04:59, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know your problems but you still can upload your copyrighted photos to Wikimedia Commons. BTW: I've got nothing to do with Upaid.----Happy new Headcheese!-hexaChord2 05:14, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
My problem is wanting ease in contributing to wiki, and you presumably want ease in maintaining it. It's much easier for me to put in external links to those of my photos others might enjoy, than to dig into posting them directly in wiki and sorting out the legalities of that. If my adding them as external links is a problem for you, no worries. While they're copyrighted, that's only for my ease in preventing others from making money on them. I make nothing (zero) when someone follows a link to freely view and download them for Fair Use.
Deleted from my Talk page (still there in History naturally):
Of course this single edit does not constitute vandalism but since our friend did several similiar edits without reacting it was the only way to stop him.----Happy new Headcheese!-hexaChord2 05:16, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm glad to have clarity on this being the way wiki responds to a "friend" trying to contribute. I might get hopeful again sometime and try contributing to see if it's gotten any easier, but meanwhile consider me stopped. Hope the coming year brings us all much happiness and many welcome challenges. :) Jw4nvc (talk) 05:30, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Well, if you want it that easy of course you can have it that easy. As mentioned before you might have a look on pages like WP:EL, WP:COI, MOS:LINK etc. It will ease your wiki life, be sure! ----Happy new Headcheese!-hexaChord2 05:50, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'd prefer having this discussion on just one talkpage and not on three - with you deleting one of them constantly. That would make things more easy I guess.----Happy new Headcheese!-hexaChord2 05:53, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Buckethead
Great to be on board! I can't believe I hadn't heard of him before, he seems godlike! Damn, what have I been missing? Zazaban (talk) 09:22, 2 January 2009 (UTC) P.S. Can you recommend what albums to get first?
- A quick look on your userpage tells me you like about all kinds of music. Well, if you haven't heard Chinese Democracy yet, that would be the commercial start point. The extreme opposite would be Pieces. His latest solo releases are almost exclusively available here.
- with vocals: Profanation (Preparation for a Coming Darkness), Enter the Chicken and the Deli Creeps
- Jazz(rock)/Fusion: Octave of the Holy Innocents, all Thanatopsis, The Dragons of Eden, Arc of the Testimony (somewhat from calm to hard)
- straight instrumental metal: Albino Slug, Crime Slunk Scene, Pepper's Ghost, Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot
- if you like radio plays: Bucketheadland, Bucketheadland 2, Giant Robot
- wierd stuff: Bolt on Neck, Kevin's Noodle House
- acoustic and calm: Colma, Electric Tears

upload pics copyright status?
Found this picture from the Government of Colorado website and these pictures from Flickr.com: one, two, three, four
Would you please tell if copyright applies and then how to upload it correctly?
Also, how does one properly cite a government press release like this one
Thanks in advance Error roy (talk) 03:32, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi! As for the first one, please give me a link to a page where the picture is included or look if you find a copyright notice. I guess it's free for use, but we have to look first. The Flickr ones all are NOT free as stated on the right lower corner of each page.
- For citation simply use "ref-tags" <ref>[http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/GovRitter/GOVR/1230985756099 this one]</ref> and make sure the article you want to include it already has a references section. See WP:CITE or ask me if you have further questions. Have fun!----Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 03:47, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

As "unconstructive" as the particular edit I made to the Here documents page was, there was no need to revert it. Humor is how people stay awake while reading about such things as computer programming. Since the part that I edited was merely an example, it did no harm to the article itself and the subtle joke might have made someone laugh at some point in the future. If you'd like to explain to me how how changing the occupation of an example character (who happened to already be named Joe) from a programmer to a plumber would hinder someone's learning about here docs then please, share. The example is poorly written anyway... It has Joe first learning about the topic then being the "go-to guy" on the subject a line later. If you want to do something useful then fix the example but don't ruin other's fun simply because you lack the basic art of humor. Danman111111 (talk) 12:45, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi there! Which edit do ou mean? You may be right but let me take a look on it please. If you're talking about this on, ehm, is that really that important?----Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 17:44, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Listen
I thank you for the effort, and I know that reverting vandalism is hard work, but it doesn't justify stupidity. If you look at the warnings on that IP page, you will see that they all pertain to User:Rimush/Sandbox. I don't always sign in when I edit my Sandbox. I even posted a message at the top of my IP's talk page. You seem to have somehow missed it twice already. I'm writing this so that I don't get a ban on my IP. And one more thing: how in the world do you "vandalize" a Sandbox? The whole purpose of a Sandbox is to experiment with edits. Rimush (talk) 21:22, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for that. Me and others use a tool to find and revert vandalism and therefore we not even vist most talkpages. Additionally you've been warned before by another vandal fighter - what of course does not make the case better. ;-) I removed the warnings but I guess you'll be warned again when editing your Userspace as an anon IP.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 21:28, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

IP 125.
You need to be careful with that IP. They change blue linked categories to red linked ones like this. Of course they can't create the category, howver in this case the redlinked category already contained 24 articles so it was worthwhile creating but often they just make one or two. Buckethead
Hi, Hexachord! Thank you for your kind comments. Actually, I have seen some video of Buckethead, and I must confess, he is so bizarre (and so good) that I was absolutely entranced. Sophia Lamar
Thanks for the welcome!
I do have a question regarding the article for "Sophia Lamar" and whether or not it meets the criteria for notability under WP:BIO. It has no sources, reads like a glowing review, and might have been submitted/edited by the subject of the article (see the article's discussion page). I just don't think it meets the criteria of WP:BIO as specified for an entertainer. I tried asking for help on the IRC channel and got nowhere. Your thoughts? cswpride (talk) 13:39, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
