Vanessa Kerry is the younger daughter of U.S. Senator and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry. She was born in 1976 and attended Phillips Academy, in Andover, Massachusetts. She is currently a student at Harvard University Medical School.

Her sister is Alexandra Kerry and her mother is Julia Thorne, to whom John Kerry was married from 1970 until 1988.
