Me, Myself, I, and the 10 Trillion Cells Within Me...Plus the 90 Trillion Symbiotic Cells that Also Live Within Me
Hey there! As you have probably deduced by now, I'm Laurinavicius and this is my homepage. I discovered Wikepedia several years ago, but never decided to work as an editor and writer. I decided to do so recently and am making an attempt that seems quite successful.
I live in the state of New Jersey in the United States of America. I'm actually a high school student, highly-regarded by my classmates, teachers, and major universities throughout the nation. I have interests in pretty much everything, particularly history, especially that which relates to the military.
"We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last hundred years... and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in, and otherwise we have returned home to seek our own lives in peace, to live our own lives in peace. But there comes a time when soft power or talking with evil will not work where, unfortunately, hard power is the only thing that works."
Colin Powell on the use of American military power.
Userboxes
Here's a list of some of the userboxes that represent me in one way or another. If you have anything in common with me or would like to discuss anything (and don't hesitate to do so), just post a message on my talk page and we'll talk about it. Please note that I am an enormous history buff and love discussing everything about pretty much every aspect of history. I also enjoy discussing (well, it's more like debating for me) politics, novels, sports, art.
Military History WikiProject (fixing the minor problems with Start-Class articles so as to bring them up to B-Class status and finding and improving Stubs to Start articles through the gathering of research and transferring it to the article itself)
Battle of Nájera (I have gathered all of the research necessary for a B-Class article; now I will bring the article up to Start-status soon by revamping it grammatically, then adding the references and ciations necessary to bring it up to B-Class)
Former Countries WikiProject (I just joined so I'm still working my way through the Project, but I plan on working on tagging articles and assessing unassessed ones, while simultaneously finding and improving Stubs to Start articles through the gathering of research and transferring it to the article itself)
Boves massacre (I have all the information I need and the majority of the sentences and paragraphs needed have been written, but I have yet to arrange them in the best possible manner)
Articles I'm Intersted in Working On
As a member of the Military History WikiProject (which is utterly incredible, if anyone has failed to noticed) I have found numerous articles to work and I hope to find many more in the future. Here's a short list of article I'm interested in working on. If you are reading this and suddenly decide to become interested in working on any of these articles, just post a message on my talk page, and we can co-operate in a joint effort to improve these articles.
Alexander I of Macedon (gathering more information on this great king before I get start working on the article itself;project may be ended due to lack of information on Alexander; INDEFINITELY POSTPONED DUE TO LACK OF INFORMATION)
Battle of Havana (1762) (fixing grammatical errors and adding paranthetical citations from the references will bring it up to B-Class, then GA-class)
Erich von Manstein (a former Featured Article which I am determined to return to its previous status; suitably referenced parantehtical citations are all that's needed to bring the article back to GA-,A-, and even FA-Class)
First Battle of the Stronghold (a former Featured Article that needs to be suitably referenced; once it is, then the article will certainly achieve B-Class, and may even be suggested for GA-Class Status)
Rowland Rugeley (a new article about a talented Loyalist officer who served with distinction during the Southern Campaigns of the American Revolutionary War; INDEFINITELY POSTPONED DUE TO LACK OF INFORMATION ON RUGELEY)
Art
If you have not yet noticed, I am quite an art freak, as I very much enjoy artistic works from numerous periods, namely: the Renaissance, the Barocque Period, the Classical Era, and the Romantic Period. Therefore, I will create my own personal gallery of my favorite pieces on this page, and I have added several already. If you have the same artistic interests as myself, please bring it up on my talk page and we can just sit back, relax, and discuss the intricate world of art.
