VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is the biggest multitechnological applied research organisation in Northern Europe. It provides high-end technology solutions and innovation services. VTT is a non-profit-making research organisation.

VTT has been granted ISO9001:2000 certificate.

VTT is a part of the Finnish innovation system under the domain of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.

History

VTT was founded in 1942 for scientific and public utility. VTT has its headquarters in Otaniemi, which is close to Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. VTT is an abbreviation of Finnish words "Valtion Teknillinen Tutkimuskeskus" which translate to "governmental technical research centre".
