Talk:A Story About a Tree
Appearance
Notability
I tagged this as questionable on notability because it is unclear whether or not the subject of the article has truly had the impact claimed. Sources for an article show verifiability, not notability. I wanted to know from the rpg community if this was a truly worthwhile subject for an article. Oh, and I re-added the orphan tag (because the page is STILL orphaned. If you can rectify that by finding articles that could link here, the help would be appreciated :) ). - There are not a whole lot of sources, but the sources that are available are particularly in depth and of excellent quality.
- Google Scholar has 8 hits: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=%22story+about+a+tree%22+koster&hl=en&lr=&btnG=Search
- Google Books has 4 hits: http://books.google.com/books?q=%22A+story+about+a+tree%22+koster&btnG=Search+Books
- I've linked the story from the MUD article which has a psychology section, and if the LegendMUD article is re-created (matter of time) it'll get linked from there as well. --Scandum (talk) 17:37, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'd like to point out that "the rpg community" probably has no idea what this article is about. It's something you will hear about in a virtual world design lecture rather than the World of Warcraft guild chat. :) 'A Story About A Tree' also plays a prominent role in Bartle's "Designing Virtual Worlds", which is considered to be one of the core works on VW-design.~~Nicholas A.
