If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. However, you will still be unable to edit Wikipedia while the IP you are using is blocked.

Akron, Ohio

Hi there, when adding content to articles, such as your edits to Akron, Ohio please remember to cite your work to reliable sources using footnotes. Content that is unreferenced is likely to be challenged and removed without discussion. You also might want to preview your edits before you save them and use some sort of spell check. Thanks for your contributions. §hepTalk 20:33, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your efforts on the Akron, Ohio article. Please understand I'm not tryining to just remove anything you post, but I did have to revert your latest round of edits based on a number of issues. Remember to not list trivial information, even if it seems interesting. By a list I mean both a bulleted list or in a paragraph (like the list of Akron firsts). Please also be aware that there are guidelines and recommendations for a good article and many of your edits were actually in opposition to that guideline, particiularly in moving sections. I posted the link to the template for U.S. cities on the talk page for Akron, Ohio. And, of course, I echo the thoughts of Stepshep...do not add info that is unsourced. If you don't have a source then don't add it (though having a source for something doesn't necessarily mean you should add it either). Finally, try to register for an account rather than edit anonymously. It allows other editors to communicate better with you and will help your edits come across is a more positive way. --JonRidinger (talk) 21:16, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I recommend editing the film and television section you just added to the article. Cleveland's section isn't nearly as long or detailed and Cleveland is a far better known city than Akron. Remember, you just need to give the reader a general idea, not a detailed synopsis. There was a reason other editors have removed this section several times. Also, while I'm glad you are using the Cleveland article as an example, be careful that it's not your only example. There are many variations, not to mention the U.S. Cities template I mentioned in the last posting. That would be your best guide. --JonRidinger (talk) 00:24, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, you added about a million spaces here. Watch what you're doing. §hepTalk 01:20, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Adding content to Akron, Ohio that is similar to Cleveland does not automatically generate notability. You really do need to watch your edits, you removed an image caption that was perfectly fine for one example. These edits are disruptive and will be promptly reverted if you're not more careful. §hepTalk 00:52, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, when adding files to articles, we now use the File: namespace, not the Image: one. §hepTalk 00:54, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Others shouldn't have to clean up your mess. §hepTalk 00:55, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
