Robert Pierre

Robert Pierre is an American christian pop/rock musician formed in 2005 in Orlando, Florida. Robert and his family held missionaries to help orphans to make the James Fund a success [1]. In 2005, Robert began his career with television host and singer Al Denson. At a local school, Denson had an appearance at Pierre's school. After Robert was selected by his classmates as the best singer, he was brought up on stage to sing with Al Denson.

Later, Denson pulled his parents aside and suggested to his parents that they bring Robert into a studio, to record a few songs; And the rest could be labeled as history. In his 2008 studio album, Identity, Robert said “For generations, my family has been involved with missionaries to build and run Christian orphanages”. “But it wasn’t until I met thousands of kids right here in America who were truly hurting that I felt a calling for ministry. I want kids to understand that it doesn’t matter who the world tells them to be, it only matters who God says they are. That’s our identity and it’s the motivation behind the CD.” [2]

The album was produced with a hidden video of the James Fund Orphanage. It will be announced for a tour in Orlando for a Grand Prize! [3]

History

Early Years (2005 - 2006)

Christian music artist, radio and television host, Al Denson, could be credited for giving Robert Pierre the drive and direction for his music career. At a local school function in 2005, Denson had an appearance at Pierre's school. After Robert was selected by his classmates as the best singer, he was brought up on stage to sing with Al Denson. Later, Denson pulled his parents aside and suggested to his parents that they bring Robert into a studio, to record a few songs; And the rest could be labled as history.

Robert Pierre recorded a total of 3 songs. Originally meant to give to family and friends as his holiday gift, these songs made it to the local radio station. From that moment, the songs started working their way around to other radio stations, getting nationwide playtime. Realizing what was happening, the Pierre family put his music on-line for 10 days for a free download. The result was that thousands of people fell in love with this 13 year old's incredible voice and music.

Debut album (2006 - 2008)

Al Denson produced Robert's first album, "Inside Out." Several of the songs on this album were co-written by Robert White Johnson. The hope with this album was two-fold; That Christians would find the encouragement they need to follow God, and that the people who are not of the Christian faith might be able to pick up the album and not only enjoy the music but also to possibly hear the message.

Seeing that all the signs were there, Robert Pierre embraced his gift to bring music with a message to tweens everywhere. On November 7, 2006 Robert made his CD debut by releasing his first album, "Inside Out," and his debut music video, "On Faith Alone," which could be viewed on his fully functional website. Upon visitng Robert's technically sophisticated website, one has access to downloads, screensaver and so much more.

While promoting his new album, before it was released, Robert Pierre was one of the performers at the Annual Universal Studio in Florida event called, "Rock the Universe," held at the Florida theme park on 3 different stages. Past performers at this event include Relient K, GRITS, Superchic and Al Denson, just to name a few.

Going coast to coast, Robert Pierre has joined the "Believe Tour," hoping to impact the youth with his ministry and music. As a positive role model, Pierre is giving kids something great to listen to, and lyrical messages to follow and to think about. He is also part of the national non profit organization, "Christ in Youth," a group which tries to connect young people with Jesus. [4]

Identity (2008–present)

Now 16, Robert’s voice and musical style have matured, but his encouraging message remains the same. With his sophomore album Identity hitting exclusive stores this fall, this high school sophomore is on a mission to help kids discover that through Christ, they have value to God.

“A lot of kids are asking, ‘Who am I?’ and ‘How am I important?’” Robert says. “They are finding their identity through friends or sports figures or celebrities or whatever. They don’t understand that their identity isn’t in that stuff; it’s in Christ, because He died on the cross for their sins. It only matters what God thinks. I want kids to know that they are forgiven and set free, and that it doesn’t matter what other people think—they are very important to God.”

From the first note of the title track, Identity catches the attention of kids and teens with its bouncy hooks, sweeping ballads, clever lyrics and contagious melodies. With award-winning producer Matt Bronlewee (Jars of Clay, Steven Curtis Chapman) at the helm and top-notch songwriters like Matthew West, Scott Krippayne, and Jason Ingram contributing, Identity is set to captivate and present the gospel to arapidly maturing generation.

True to Robert’s heart for missions, the high school sophomore is giving away tracks from Identity at Family Christian Stores with a $10 donation to the James Fund [5] starting in mid-September through December, The James Fund is a non-profit organization founded by Family Christian Stores in 2003 to meet the needs of orphans and widows in the communities it serves.

Pierre said “For generations, my family has been involved with missionaries to build and run Christian orphanages”. “But it wasn’t until I met thousands of kids right here in America who were truly hurting that I felt a calling for ministry. I want kids to understand that it doesn’t matter who the world tells them to be, it only matters who God says they are. That’s our identity and it’s the motivation behind the CD.”

On November 2008, Robert will also be spreading the message of true Identity to tens of thousands of tweens (generally accepted as 8-13 year olds) on the iShine Live tour [6], a high-powered event that also features new trio the Rubyz, Disney actor Luke Benward and speaker Paige Armstrong. It’s Pierre’s follow-up to the successful CIY Believe conferences, where he met thousands of middle schoolers and listened to their stories.

Robert said “I met a lot of kids going through really tough times, and I still keep in touch with a lot of them”. “That’s why Identity speaks to me so much, because kids need to know who they are. And sometimes a song can reach them.”

Third Studio album

Robert might announce for a new album but details were not confirmed yet. The release may or not may be in 2009 or 2010.
