Candice Reed, born 23 June 1980 in Melbourne, was Australia's first IVF baby and the world's third under the leadership of Ian Johnston.

Many many years ago Candice Reed did a journalism cadetship in Victoria where she spent most of her time writing on the sports desk.

She moved to New Zealand in June,2006 where she worked for the Howick and Pakuranga Times.

However just one year later she moved up in the world and got a position as a reporter at The Aucklander. During her time there she was often described as "the thread that keeps the paper together".

In December, 2008, she left The Aucklander to pursue a career in social work. It was a rough blow to The Aucklander who struggled to pick itself up again after her departure.

She owns a home in Panmure and currently has a thriving veggie garden which is producing bumper crops of cherry tomatoes.

Personal hobbies include volunteering for Age Concern and playing netball for Carlton Yellow where she recently won an award for being a good player.
